Damita & Chico biographies on Petfinder are awful. They were written in February & a lot has happened since then. I have learned so much more about Damita & Chico has gotten BIG(GER)!! Anyways, I don't know how to write a biography that sounds good. Every time I write one, it sounds good to me, but when I come back to it later, it sounds bad.

Here's what I know about Damita:
she's mostly blind(I suspect she sees only shadows)
she gets around with great ease
she has never bumped into anything
she MUST have a home with another friendly cat
she loves to play with any toys, but she particularly loves noisy ones
she loves to get petted, sit in your lap, & get her tummy rubbed
she is very people oriented
uses a scratching post
she gets along with cats & dogs
she is approx. 5 years old

Here's what I know about Chico:
he's very playful
he gets along with cats & dogs
he is smaller range of adult size
he is still very kitten-ish
he uses a scratching post
he is approx. a year old

The hardest part about writing a bio for Damita is playing down the blindness thing. Honestly, most people don't know she is blind until they see the "film" covering her eyes or I tell them. The hardest part about writing Chico's bio is I don't know what to put in it. I never really know what to include.

Can anybody help me with these? What else should I include? What should I leave out?

I'm not too good at this either, but hopefuly this helps some.

Things I think you shouold include are in bold.

Damita:
she's mostly blind(I suspect she sees only shadows)
she gets around with great ease

she has never bumped into anything
she MUST have a home with another friendly cat
she loves to play with any toys, but she particularly loves noisy ones
she loves to get petted, sit in your lap, & get her tummy rubbed(you can include that she loves most toys in this part.)
she is very people oriented
uses a scratching post
she gets along with cats & dogs
she is approx. 5 years old

I know it is hard to not freak people out with mentioning blindness. I think people don't realise that animals get along blind much better than humans. Was she born blind? If so, she knows nothing else so to her it's the same as being sighted. I wouldn't worry about mentioning it too much or too little. You want a family for her that is okay with her blindness, or understand she is okay with it.

Chico:
he's very playful
he gets along with cats & dogs
he is smaller range of adult size

he is still very kitten-ish (on the small side for an adult cat)
he uses a scratching post
he is approx. a year old

Are you looking to add more than the above to their bios? If not, I think what you have is great. Write from the heart, the right family for your kitties will come along and read your bio, fall in love, and viola. The harder you try the more you might attract the wrong family. Be honest, sincere, and you'll find the right people to love your kitties.

Thanks for your help! Damita wasn't born blind, but she has no trouble getting around. My main concern is that I live in a rural area & people don't care as much about their pets(not like the ones on TCS do). I want the perfect family for her, but I am afraid they will never find her. OK, so maybe I am being paranoid.

I would maybe say this:
Damita is around 5 years of age. She is very people oriented and gets along well with cats and dogs. She must go into a home with a friendly cat. She loves toys especially ones that make noise as she is almost blind. She may be able to see some shadows. Although she is almost blind she gets along fine, but will have to be an indoor cat. She loves to be petted and rubbed and is a lap cat. As long as you give her a scratching post she will not tear up your furniture.

Chico is approxiately a year. He does all the typical kitten behavior meaning playing and running. He gets along with cats and dogs. He is small for his age, but will probably grow a little more. He uses a scratching post.
