Has anyone ever had a cat who did this??!! Pandora decided she need a snack this weekend and got zapped from chewing on an electrical cord (she's okay now, took her to emergency vet and they kept her 2 nights) should i get the bitter apple stuff and spray it on the cords? there's no other way to really get the cords out of her reach, they're on standing lamps in my living room

That bitter apple stuff works wonders. I've known a few people who have used it for that same reason, and have had excellent results. Glad to hear you kitty is ok!!

Ooo...be careful with that! I haven't used the bitter apple stuff, but I've heard good things.
B's sister had a cat that got zapped really bad by an electrical cord. Still today the cat can barely "Meow" because the zap burned off part of her tongue!

Yeah it burned her mouth pretty bad
but it didn't effect her voice at all
she's playing and eating so I think she'll be a-ok

I've had Bitter Apple spray in my house anytime there were cats/dogs, puppies or kittens. Its a great training aid. No home with pets should be without a bottle or two!

Bitter Apple works very well for cats, I have sprayed all of my cords with it and my cat has a licking problem so when i come home from work i spray my hands and arms so he want continously lick me.

Now if you have a dog on the other hand some of them are not the brightest and i know several people including my mom's dog who actually lick the taste of the stuff

My dog is actaully a pretty good boy, the only he likes to eat that he shouldn't is the cat food
never lost a shoe to him

she's still doing great, eating and playing etc, but she looks a total mess, oh well, she's still beautiful to me

yep, I have to put Bitter Apple on all my cords.
On the ones Henri likes most I make sure to give it a fresh coating every day.

I even got a little taste of it myself. That stuff WORKS.

Oh dear, sorry to hear about what happened to your cat. Good to know that she's doing fine now. Luckily, I haven't had this problem yet, and I am also going to be investing in this bitter apple.
