Hi,

I'm new here (sort of). I posted the earlier the week about a bleeding problem Marmie was having, and thankfully she'll be okay.

I just want to say a HUGE thank-you to everyone who cared enough to post, and even to those who just viewed my post, as I know many of you are extremely busy.

I've grown up around cats. My parents had a cat, Tabby, who sadly was hit and killed many, many years ago. Shortly after her sad departure, my parents adopted another kitty from the local SPCA; her name is Twinkle (all grey) and is still alive and will be 19 this fall.

When I moved out on my own already with 2 dogs, my heart kept telling me that I missed cats. So, almost 2 years ago (will be 2 years in May), I adopted Marmie who was about 8 weeks old at the time from a local pet shop. Me and my b/f were in love at first site to a little orange ball of fluff.

We named her Marmalade who later my mom shortened to Marmie and that kinda stuck. She's an absolute delight! She is very affectionate and loves to wake me and my b/f up at any hour by batting us on our nose or eyes or licking us. She loves to be up in our laps while watching TV. Also, she goes absolutely bonkers for ice (either that falls on the floor or in a cold drink - she actually takes the ice out of the glass and bats it around the floor) and also for water. Her fav past time is splashing in our dogs water dishes or playing in the tub if we don't completely turn the tap off.

I'd love to post a couple of pics, but can't quite figure it out. Can someone point me in the right direction? I'll try to add her to my avatar pic or something, but would love to be able to put a bigger pic in a post.

to you all!

K, thanks for that info. I hope these 2 pics work. Neither one is very recent - maybe Christmas for the first one and when we first moved upstairs from downstairs just over 2 years ago.

Thanks for the warm welcomes from you all. I'm loving this site already. Can't wait to express my thoughts and opinions and hopefully answer some questions or offer advice to you and/or your kitty.

Once again, thank-you!

Oh, she certainly can be.

We were lying in bed last night and she got up on the nightstand and kept dipping her paw in my b/f's ice water and shaking. Of course, all we could do was laugh. It was just sooooo adorable.
