Last Friday my husband called me at work to tell me he found a baby kitty in his employees car (motor area). We took the cat in and decided to keep her.
Her name is Topanga.
The vet estimates she was around 6 weeks old. I'm taking her back to teh vet today to have her completely checked out and start her vaccinations.

We already have 2 female Cairn Terriers in the house. For now Topanga has a safe place in our spare bathroom. She's eating canned and dry food and using the kitty box. She's still a little skittish, but she's beginning to warm up to me.
It will be quite a while before I can introuduce Topanga to the dogs, Tabitha and Teona.

I haven't had a kitten in over 12 years so it's a little new for me. Hubby and I had a cat, but lost her three years ago at the age of 12 to cancer. Our oldest dog Tabitha grew up with our cat PJ and Teona plays with a cat at the groomers. I hope they will accept Topanga.

Here's a picture of our new furkid...

this was our sweet girl PJ just before she passed.

Welcome to the forum. I think your new little kitten is adorable. I love kittens. I own two cats now named Taffy and Misty. I"m going to put some photos in the picture area though.
Sorry about the loss of your other cat. I know what that's like as I"ve lost cats too and it is very sad.

I'm so sorry to hear about PJ, she was such a beautiful kitty and had such a gentle expression in those photos. It looks as if she was truly loved. Topanga seems to have found a good home to grow up in

thanks for the warm welcome.
Topanga got a clean bill of health from our Vet on Friday. No signs of fleas, mites or worms. They felt she was too young to begin shots. I'll take her back in two weeks.

She's already becoming very comfortable. She is practicing her kitty ambush skills daily.

It is wonderful of you and your hubby to welcome Topanga into your home. She is so cute
Keep us updated on how she does with the pups. At Thanksgiving last year we unexpectedly came upon a dog, Brody, who has been with us ever since. I went through the same worries as you as far as introducing him to my spoiled little girl, but everything has gone very well.
I know things will work out for you as well. If you do a search on the site you will find lots of good information on introducing Topanga to Tabitha and Teona.
