Saturday Damita & Chico are free from jail!
They get to move from "jail" to the small bathroom downstairs. They will probably have to sleep in jail at night to ensure no one gets away(sleepy people going to the bathroom aren't always careful to keep the cats in). I don't know who this whole ordeal has been harder on-me or them. Tuesday March 14th they were first imprisioned for ringworm. They got minimal attention in their cells-only from me. They were given Fulvicin liquid 1x a day & Conofite cream on the affected areas 2x a day. They remained in thier seperate "cells" for 23 days. Tuesday April 4th they were released from jail-until I noticed red stuff in their stools.
Back in jail...only this time they were imprisoned together. They were first in a small cell, then they were moved into a larger cell. Their cell had food, water, the box, toys, & a shelf to sleep on. They have long been patient in their cell, bathing each other & playing together.

During this whole journey, Chico has gained weight!
When he was neutered at 9 months he weighed 4 lbs. He is now up somewhere above 5lbs. & getting close to 10. My guess is he weighs about 8 lbs. Damita has had some issues. She gave herself many bloody noses. At one point, she refused to eat anything but wet food. I noticed that she was looking bloated two days ago. I was holding her rubbing her tummy until she ripped a stinky toot. Then she went to the box & all was well in our basement.
lol Damita flourishes on her people time. She is a very people-oriented lap cat. Chico is very kitten, so being in a tiny cage has been quite a challenege. The hardest part is when they had to be seperated, but they could hear each other. Amazingly enough, Chico gets tired of playing faster than Damita. Damita is his mommy & I fear that they will have to go to a home together. We will have to wait & see.
