She never spells my name right!! I have known her for 3 years. I was in her wedding. I have given her cards and gifts that say to: her From: BRANDI yet she stilll spells its Brandy. That is Lee's sister not me!! I just think its rude. i mean I KNOW she knows that I spell my name with an I. Does this bother anyone else?
Now I feel sorry for bugging you about the spelling of your name.
You know I'm just kidding.
It sounds like the girl throwing the shower is a real piece of work though. She needs to learn respect for people and relationships.

My problem is that she seems to think we are friends even though I have practically gotten to the point where I have been downright rude to her. Last week on Friday evening she came over, uninvited, and I just couldn't get her to leave
Maybe you're just too nice Tanya. You need to find your "inner jerk"

Anyway one day I found out that he had cheated on me with a girl, after I found this out, 6 more came out of the closet and unfortunately she was one of them.
I'm not saying Lee would ever cheat on you but if you can, just stop this behavious ASAP. Even if it means telling her she is a floozy and you are sick of it. Don't be afraid to hurt her feelings because she obviously doesn't care about yours.
Awww... poor Lauren. Some guys just can't keep their eyes on the prize.

Wyan its ok for you to do it. I know you are teasing. She spelled it wrong on my gift for being a bridesmaid. Now what am I going to do with a jewlrey box engraved Brandy?
You would think that since I was a bridesmaid that she would know how to spell my name!!

My name is always spelled wrong. That doesn't bother me so much as people pronouncing it wrong. It's spelled Tanya, but it pronounced more like Tonya. The "A" is not pronounced as a long vowel (is that the correct term?).

Anyway, my biggest pet peeve is when I call someone on the phone and say "Hi, this is Tanya", pronouncing my name correctly of course, and then they say whatever they need to say and then I get "Thank you TAnya", pronounced as if you were saying the word "Tan". I hope that makes sense
I understand that it could be pronounced either way, but when I have said my name properly I expect them to as well!

It all really makes me angry with my mother, it's her fault it is this way

It's amazing how far saying someone's name correctly or even remembering their name goes to impressing someone. I remember reading about some survey results where forgetting your date's name was considered worse than something else, which was quite bad. -can't remember what it was though, but names sure go a long way don't they Tammy?... I mean Tonya... No! Tanya!

That is so funny Ryan, because I worked with a guy years ago who ALWAYS called me Tammy!
Where on earth do you get Tammy from Tanya?
I just gave up and he called me Tammy the whole time I worked there. One time I gave up and had a teacher call me Tanya (pronounced as in Tan) the whole semester. Towards the end I had to go up and get my grade, I gave her my name and she sounded annoyed with me that I was prnouncing my name differently than she had been

Geez... some people's teachers!
Fortunately, I have an easy first name. My last name is the one that people pronouce with sheer stupidity, and it's just two simple words together.
Sometimes people screw up and think my name is Bryan though. Then I tell them the "B" is silent.

Too funny!

I think Tammy is the worst people have butchered mine. You know, Stephanie (dawnofsierra) spells my name wrong all the time. It's a wonder her emails make it to my email address! I fixed her by calling her Stuff-A-Knee

I sure hope she doesn't check this thread any time soon

Thanks, but I'm sure it's easy for me to look good when there aren't so many guys here. That's always a sweet compliment though.

My boyfriend is in a band, and all his bandmates forget my name even though I've been dating him longer than they've been a band.

They always call me Lauren. my name is Laura. Its not hard.

I was told today that I spell my name wrong! I said no, I spell it the right way. My name is Mollie. Most people with my name spell it Molly, but I don't. For some reason Jewish people spell the name that way and that's the way my greatgrandmother spelled it.
Grrr, and for YEARS now, the regional supervisor has spelled my last name wrong on the weekend schedule. (inserting an h) I spoke to him a few months ago and informed him. Over the last few months, they have been emailing the schedule instead of faxing it- to everyone but me! I only found out b/c my coworker was printing it, and I looked on her computer and found out that all the other people were getting it but me. So I nicely emailed the secretary who is emailing it and asked to be included. (I was tempted to send something sarcastic asking how am I supposed to know when I am working if I don't get the schedule, but I've never met the lady and suspected the reason was the supervisor).Turns out I was right, she couldn't find me in the email, and never bothered to ask anyone.
Of course Zakk's name has been in discussed several times- you may notice it's spelled different in my screen name. The vet has it as zack, it also can be spelled zach. Whatever is my opinion, but hubby insists he is named after the guitarist zakk wylde.

Oh, I just LOVE the name Francesca! I pronounce it Fran shess ka...probably doesn't sound as pretty as when you say it...but is it such a lovely name!

And Brandi...I would definitely be more offended by her hands on the boyfriend. Just let him know that the next time she touches him inappropriately, he is to say in a booming voice, "PLEASE GET YOUR HANDS OFF MY ASS! THAT IS BRANDI ONLY TERRITORY". I guarentee it will break the habit. The more embarrassing the situation, the better. If she keeps touching, he should keep speaking out. Either she will get the hint, or her husband will notice and rein her in.

Sometimes we forget that when our boundaries are crossed...it is not necessary to be "polite". Tell him it is good practice in case any other girl gets too familiar with him...just to let them know to BACK OFF!

Be sure to laugh a lot when he does this...and if everyone is silent, just say, "Isn't Lee precious!", and keep laughing.

These attention seeking people grate on my nerves as well. I have been in a similar situation a long while back. I have never been a jealous person, honestly, but it so hard to mind your manners in situations like this one. My sympathies hon.
