can I introduce the kittens (healthy ones) to the rest of my cat family? I have two neutered males and a spayed female.

Interesting Q Amyscrazy - I need to know that answer too (after events today - bit of an intersting time when my neutered male cat met the babies)!

I read the post
I had a male cat that thought they were HIS babies. He even let them try and nurse
I don't know what they are thinking or if that is normal.

The kittens are 9 days old and we hold them every day. The mom is ok about it unless they really start wailing
My boy cats go into the room but not the closet (where the babie are). The mom doesn't seem to mind them in the room.

I would do a slow introduction. Although I would wait til the kittens are two weeks to do this. But when you do, make sure the mom is around and let the mom be in control of that introduction process. The mother will be able to sense a threat to her young before a human will.

So do it slowly, and make sure the mom is there to police the situation. If she growls or shows she's uncomfortable with the other cats being around, remove the others immediately, then try it again a few days later.

Even after the mother shows she's comfortable with the other cats around the kittens, wait until the kittens are able to leave their nesting spot and start wondering around and exploring before you leave any other cat alone with them, if it is at all possible.

Don't let another cat violate the nesting area. That is for the mom and babies....when you introduce them.....bring the little ones out in the open with the mom.

I've done the kitten thing twice with other adult cats around and these kind of precautions always seemed to work for me.

Good luck and have fun with these little guys...how many are there?
