Oh - no - I AM back!!

Got home at 9:00 lastnight. Sharie went CRAZY, and the cats were purring and rubbing against me and everything, I was soooooo glad to see they're okay!! They both slept on my bed lastnight

So anyway, well I'm trying to upload some pics to photobucket at the moment, I had a great time. We stayed with my great aunt & uncle, Ned & Decla, in Dublin. They're very old-fashioned, and we had great meals (potatoes with every meal wouldn't you know it!) and conversations. We just kinda went off on our own each day we were there to see Dublin and another cousin of my showed us around. We saw some street musicians, a TON of shops; it was pretty cool. I'm not a big drinker; I don't like beer (just the occasional wine) but my Dad did have his first *real* Guinness at some local pub. I had a soda
I was fine with just that. And, they allow kids in bars?? I mean not to drink of course but that was new to me.... And they do have a lot of pubs. I sent lots of postcards to friends and relatives back home. We spent most of our time, then, with my Aunt Annie - she was like a grandmother to us!!!!
Lol I felt like I was 9 again. She braided my hair when I got out of the shower (the night before Easter Sunday; my hair brushed really wavy and nicely the next morning for the Roman Catholic Easter Sunday Service - she is VERY Catholic, lots of founts of Holy Water around her house and things like that, everywhere. It's nice
)

Some differences I noticed (these may apply to the UK in general but I'm not used to it so....)
They have tea (or coffee) like 4 times a day, and it's very strong there too
Weird exit signs

Left side of the road
Odd road signs
Trash cans are labeled "Litter"
You have to pay 4 euro for your trash to be picked up
Ummmmm..... EUROS! duh
I already knew this from your guys but... shopping carts = trolleys

Ok. Well in the country part of Ireland, there are sheep EVERYWHERE EVERYWHERE EVERYWHERE!!!!!! On the sides of the road there are patches of sheep and some cows and goats and the like. It's sooo pretty. And the grass IS very very green, it's beautiful. The trees are gorgeous too. It's all just like on the postcards and pictures, only about 100 times better. More than a camera can really capture. I so wish I could live there! But I'd rather stay where my family is.......

We visited a couple castles, OHHHHH and my Uncle Ned founded The National Heritage Park of Ireland (a huge tourist spot we visited) which is a tour which has replicas of houses and things from Ireland a long time ago and shows how it progressed. One of the castles was (I forget the name) the place kinda like Old Sturbridge Village in Massachusetts. You could actually go in the castle too.

So, pictures later today, more about it later

The cats house, we just pay the mortgage..
It sounds awesome! Its so funny the things about the brits that you picked up on. Litter instead of trash haha. I think 'Trash' sounds wierd!

We drink lots of tea and coffee too. I probably have 3 or 4 cups a day so its not just in Ireland. A cup of tea solves all your problems

Can't wait for your pictures.

Patti, I'm so glad you had such a good time! I loved Ireland when I went there (loved England & Scotland too)! Glad you're home safely.

Can't wait for the pictures!

I apologise if I've just missed them but I can't find them
No, I've just been procrastinating uploading them to photobucket

But now that you've brought it up - and I have the time - I'll do it right now. I do want to share, it just takes sooo long to even upload the 20-some I plan on uploading. But I'll probably have them up in 30-45 minutes

Patty, if you can reduce the file size before uploading, it won't take too long to upload. It also won't take up as much of your Photobucket space.

How? I have Photofiltre. I know it can do that, but besides the actual size, I don't have a clue where to go for the file size itself.
