I have been using Zero Odor on the spots on the couches where Eppie has urinated. She's been checked for UTIs (none), crystals (none), and she's on amitrypteline for her anxiety. We're also using Feliway Comfort Zone in the house as well.

The problem is that she still occasionally urinates in the same spots on the couches. It's driving both Bradley and I nuts! I am pretty sure it is because she can still smell the old urine on those spots. As much as I scrub and scrub, the smell will not go away! Short of buying new couches, how on earth can I get the smell out of the couches once and for all??

I don't know about Zero Odour, but I use Simple Solution for these kinds of things!

The best way to ensure that all the scent and stain are removed is to pour enough over the area so that it can soak through to every layer of the sofa - foam, lining etc.

Then you can dab it to take any external excess liquid from it and leave to dry naturally (can take between 24-48 hours) and this should remove any odour from the area!

I hope you can find a way to solve this!

Thank you so much Sara

Zero Odor comes in spray bottles. So would it be better for me to take the nozzle off and just pour the solution all over the urine spots? I guess that'd make it more concentrated, that's for sure!

You're welcome!

Yes, I think it would be best to just pour it on, as this will let it penetrate into the fabric and filling as opposed to just hitting the surface!

Is Zero Odor an enzymatic cleaner?

I hope it works for you and Eppie doesn't find the spots attractive anymore!

Thanks again Sara
Yup, Zero Odor is enzymatic and came highly recommended, which is why I've been so perplexed.

We're moving tomorrow and the last thing I wanted was stinky couches smelling up our nice new place!

yup, soak the area!
We have a cat similar to yours and two spots on our couches still smell, so i'm basically going to have to try to saturate the area. I've done it on one couch arm already and that seems to have solved the problems, so now for the other areas. too bad the stuff is so expensive!

Well, the big move starts today!

Last night I poured all of our remaining Zero Odor over most of the urine spots. I'm going to buy some more enzymatic cleaner at the vet's today, but it looks (and smells) like this idea really works. I cannot thank you enough!

(Add this to my "Why didn't I think of that?" file!)

I'm so pleased to hear that it's working!

Your new place will smell wonderfully clean by the time you have everything moved in and Eppie won't find the spots again!

Good luck with the rest of your move and I hope you get all the smells out before your sofa moves!
