i have two cats and they are called ah choo and simba.
Ah choo eats everything, absolutely everything that is inside his bowl but simba is very fussy, he eats the dry food sometimes, and eats the wet food sometimes. even when he is very hungry, he doesnt eat much
i give them pouches of wet food from whiskas, and ah choo eats the whole thing and simba doesnt even finish half of it, and ah choo just goes over and finishes it off

but if i put the food on my hand for simba, he'll eat it, even if its exactly the same thing from his bowl. should i try and change the brand of the cat food?
and is there a real difference between kitten food and adult cat food? because whiskas is the only one that i can find that offer kitten food

simba is 8 months old and ah choo is around 5 months old, and he is so fat

Probalby a good idea to try a different food. There are so many other brands like:

Nutro
ProPlan
Royal Canine
Science Diet

to name a few - that offer kitten food both in dry and wet.

If you are currently buying in a Supermarket that the reason why you are only seeing whiskas as your only option. Go to a Pet Store such as Petco or Petsmart or you can even purchase on line.

And yes there is a big difference between kitten and adult food. Kitten food is much higher in protein - which they need for growing.

Kitten food I found is actually a high proitein and fat all stage in some brands...
wet food is better than dry for kitty ... Read your label and compare it with some in the pet stores youll see the difference... Many ( not all) premium are naturally preserved , many contain little to no grd corn and little to no by products( heads feet and intestines)

I have a similar problem. I have a 6 yr old male of healthy eating habits and weight. And an underweight 8 month old female who is a picky eater. What is working for me is free-feeding a dry kitten food that she likes (Nutro Max Kitten) and offering canned food (whatever's on sale) at certain times. My boy might gain some weight because he gets exactly what she gets, but it will be easier to control food later in my opinion once I get my underweight girl to a healthy weight and eating routine.

You might be able to stimulate some interest in eating by offering some stinky canned wet foods. Some cats respond better to fish flavored catfood that REEKS. I've read in some spots that feeding baby food to skinny cats can help increase interest because it is generally smelly, but you have to be careful to avoid onion & garlic ingredients.

I've found leaving dry food out at all time helps. I catch my girl nibbling in between meals. I give canned food twice a day and they know it. So they'll run straight to their dishes whenever I'm puttering around the kitchen in the morning and at night.

thanks!!
i went to get another brand of food today, and when i got home and opened it up, simba started meowing at me like crazy!! he totally loves the new brand and cant get enough of it, i left it out and he starting biting the bag of the food... humm hahaha

but the thing is i read on some books and some websites that i should let them adapt to the new brand, i mix the old and new together but simba doesnt seem interested in the old one and picks out the new food

i feed them wet food once everyday, and sometimes twice

As long as you feed them wet food for at least half of their total food a day, that's fine.

Kitten food has more protein. Don't feed them kitten food after they're about a year old, but you can give them adult food too during this time, i've been told.

I've had some cats who for some reason don't like to eat the same thing or brand all the time, and I would have to give variety. Even if they loved something, after a few days, they'd stop eating it and want something else, so I'd go back and forth.

Work with your little guys and seewhat works best.
