It sounds like you're doing well - do the kitties get sleepy and tight little tummies after eating? That is a good sign that they are getting enough. Loose, wrinkly tummies, and crying AFTER eating are not such good signs. How is it going today?

Thank the both of you so much! That is really sweet!

They are doing good...Their bellys are tight and they have stopped meowing right now. But when I have fed them the past two times, they seem like they had rather sleep than eat. I hope this is ok.
I'm just worried..that's all.
BUT they DID eat, and they hardly slept AT ALL yesterday, so I'm guessing this is why. Also, the pee is very clear for both!

Thanks so much everyone...I could never thank yall enough!!!

Well, I would guess that they are doing their growing while sleeping. So maybe they're having a tiny growth spurt. Also, remember they grow up FAST, so while you're feeding every two hours, that isn't going to go on like that for months like it does for a human baby!

We are sooo glad to hear that the black kitten is doing better...also we think you are doing a great job. As long as they are acting normally and eating then that pretty much means they are ok.It also shouldn't be much of a worry if they don't want to eat every now and then,as long as they eat majority of the time. And as far as the meowing they probably are doing it because they miss their mother so just give them some time to get used to their new enviorment.Maybe you should put a stuffed animal in their bed with them that is large enough for them to think it is their mom. Please keep us upadated!

Thanks!
I just fed them and they ate pretty good this time. They are back asleep, but I let them stay out of thier box for a little bit this time. They were very active. I'm wondering why thier eyes have yet to open though. You can see a little bit of the inside corner of the little grey/black striped one's eye. It's blue...like all kitties. I guess they will open in time. First time I've ever messed with kitties before thier eyes were open. Also, the one little one sleeps with his mouth open a little from time to time. I'm hoping this is normal to...seeing as to how some adult cats do it. And they are sticky, any way I can clean them a little?

Thanks everyone...you have been a blessing!!!
It keeps me busy, but I wouldn't trade one second of it. These kitties lives are worth every minute!

Hugs to all of you and your kitties.

Oh and BTW: Both of them have normal pee and poo. So that is good too!

I'm glad they are both doing well...you are doing a great job!

You can wipe them with a warm damp (not wet) soft washcloth (that's what we had to do with the orphan baby squirrels we had a few weeks ago.)

Well done for taking on these kitties!!
I know how you feel! My baby Portia I had her from about 1 day old!

You can wash them - Just get a fairly wet wash cloth (warm water of course) and wipe them over and clean them up. Then get a soft dry towel and dry them really well. And keep them well wrapped up cause you don't want them to be cold!

Sometimes they will want to eat and sometimes they will want to sleep! Try to feed them as regularly as possible, but as long as their tummies are tight and round then you know they have had a good feed!

And yes they do whinge!!
Portia used to howl!! She was such a whinger baby!

Its so good that they have each other to cuddle up to! I wish my baby had that!

Awww...thanks for the words of encouragement! That's awesome you raised your kitty like this too. I'm going to keep one...I do believe, the choice will be hard though. But if the black one makes it, I'll probably keep him, because I had a black cat when I was 9, who I didn't lose until I was 19(he got out, and I never seen my poor Chipper again.
) I still hope somedays, although impossible, he'll come home.
Anyways, that makes me feel so much better to know that there are other kitties who have survived this. But I'm still worried about his mouth being open a little when he sleeps. I hope this is normal.

Hugs everyone!

I've got some sad news and a heavy heart. They grey one that I found first passed away...
This is a terrible feeling. I feel like I did my best, and I know it's not my fault, but I still can't help but wonder if I did something wrong...or what would have been had I did some things differantly. I just have to try and be here for the black one. It's so hard...I am so sick over it. Do you think the black one will die now that it's alone? I just don't know what to do. I'm sorry everyone...I tried to save the little angel.

Of course you did nothing wrong! Poor baby, you loved him and made his days comfortable and warm. He wouldn't have even had that if it hadn't been for you. You might think about a clock and a stuffed animal for little blackie. And make sure he's warm enough without his buddy.

Yeah, I have a clock there and a stuffed animal. I'm hoping he does good. I just can't understand what happend. He was doing fine, then he started breathing with his mouth open. It had been almost 2 hours since he ate, so I'm pretty sure it had nothing to do with milk in his lungs. I held him in my arms as he died...I didn't put him down till he quit breathing.
I just feel so helpless and lost. Thanks for your words of kindness...it means the world to me. I really put my heart into it.

Seriously, the words yall say make me cry. It really touches me that someone knows I did my best. I'm still trying...I feel so sick, and now I'm nervous to look at the black one, because I'm scared he's going to go throught the same thing. I don't know what I'm going to do if something happens to it...me and my Mom can't cry anymore...
