Have you been feeding her a high quality kitten food? She definitely needs a lot of nutrition now AND after the babies are born. Can you feel them moving inside her yet? I took my cat to the vet, but there really wasn't much point. The vet says, "yeah, she's pregnant!" Birth usually goes fairly well. Cats have been having babies for a long time. But I know how it is with your baby. And lastly, you should really consider having Kitty spayed after this - spaying will help her be healthier and live a longer life.

If you have to give mommy the KMR it is expensive, but I hear it is worth it. That way you have a little on hand in case kittens need it.

What brand of cat food do you guys reccomend? you can see the babies moving form across the room. i think it is around her 63rd day today. is there any way of telling that she is DEFINETLY going into labor? i keep her my room during the night and wake up to check on her. do you think she'll be OK if she goes into labor while i'm at school? she's kinda young and i'm a little paranoid that she is going into labor every time she meows or sniffs in a corner.

As a matter of fact, she may wait until you go to school to have them. My momma had 5 kittens in a little over an hour and a half. She waited all day for us to leave. My cat was only about 7 months and she was fine and is a very good mom.
I noticed the morning my cat went into labor that her stomach had dropped. It was hanging lower than normal. She would walk a few feet and lay down. She just seemed to feel heavy.
I hope that helps a little. I can't wait for pictures.

Gizmo got really really HUGE, like she was carrying two airships on each side of her belly. She sounded like a mack truck running across the floor whenever she walked or jumped down from furniture. Then yesterday when she went into labor, I knew it instantly because she had all kinds of "stuff" coming out of her back end. She was meowing a lot and kept rolling her back and wanting massage and following me around every moment. Her back would ripple a lot when she was in the early stages of labor (contractions).

I don't know about other cats, but Gizmo did the rippling thing for a good week before she went into labor, but the way I knew for sure she was in real labor was when she started leaking a lot of gunky stuff from her back end and she meowed and purred a lot and followed me everywhere and got very restless.

If she's really close to you and wants to be with you every moment, just keep putting her in her nest and petting her a lot and sitting close by her to let her know you're there.

I was amazed at how huge my cat got. Like Gizmo, she was probably visible from the air! (She had 8 kittens too). The last night she could only lie on her back she was so big. She waited until the dead of night to have them, though.

Jess - you're at the right place for kitten advice! The other members on TCS have really helped me out with my queries about the birth process and kittens...like you, I've learned so much too. Good luck with Kitty.

Yep, like a BEACHED WHALE! She just spent days laying on her back with all fours spread eagle and kept making this low groaning/purring noise. I kinda remember feeling that way in the last stages of my pregnancies too!
