Hi everybody! I've just joined the forums and I have here with me my new kitty, Quill. This looks like an excellent place to learn about cats and talk with other cat slaves. I'm not new to cats, I've grown up with them. I've always had a feline purring in my lap and I think they are one of the most beautiful creatures on Earth. So about me, I'm a university student doing a Bachelor's in English, and so far I'm not complaining! It's great.
Quill is a shelter kitty. He adopted us about three weeks ago and so far there have been no problems whatsoever with him. The three previous cats I've had have always been older cats, so Quill is my first young'un
: at only a year old. He's such a polite guy, not afraid to come up to anyone at all and rub against them. He's a brown mackerel and white medium hair. I think he has some type of forest/angora cat in him but I'm not too sure. He just has "the look". He got his name because A) His tail is all plumey like a feather pen B) I love writing C) He just has the look of a classic Victorian parlour cat. He loves water, and he's not afraid to get wet. Sometimes he comes to me with his back wet and I wonder if he's been laying in the tub or drinking from the toilet. (I caught him doing that a few times, the little guy has no decency!)
My previous cat was the love of my life. His name was Tucson Arizona, and he too was a shelter cat. He was a big, black and white tubby fellow, always in search of a belly rub or a kind word. And food. Lots of food!
He died in September after an extremely short illness, complicated with FIV. I've missed his quiet company, and I've been searching for the right cat ever since.
I'm glad to have Quill. We've only been together for three weeks but he's growing on me. He's such a sweet little clown.
Anyway. Hope to get to know people on here!
