I need to get a urine sample from Maggie May and Jazz. So yesterday I covered the litter box with saran wrap and the carpet outside the litter box also. Maggie May peed outside my bedroom door and Jazz just refused to go until I took the saran wrap out.
Any suggestion anyone? Please help!!!!!

Home of Jon Bon Jovi!
My vet gave me these small black rocks to put in there, so they still have a bit of the litter feeling, but it doesn't absorb. You can probably use some aquarium rocks, just make sure they're not colored. Good luck...I need to do the same thing on Thursday for Cody!

I'm really sorry. I know i shouldn't laugh but when i saw the thread title i had an image of you hiding behind your cat holding out one of those urine sample jars.

she probably thought you were playing a prank on her when she arrived at her tray to find it covered in cellophane. Good luck with it!

Use dry beans instead of litter. It feels the same as litter, and the urine will just flow to the bottom of the pan.

At the supermarket. You can also use uncooked rice (not the parboiled kind) or dried peas.

You can also try just a handful of shedded paper. It provides something to dig through, and as long as it's just a little, it won't be able to absorb all the urine.
Though if your cats are picky, they may try to hold out for their regular litter.

My foster has to go to the vets for his, as he would rather jump on the sofa to get at the normal litter tray, or go without for 5 hours while he is confined!!
