Just wanted to share a happy ending for a very sweet cat.

Several weeks ago, we helped an elderly nun trap a feral (or so we thought) male at the church where she works. She'd been feeding him for years, is getting ready to retire and was concerned about his future. She'd never been able to get close enough to catch him.

Spitter (her name for the cat) came to us with a sever upper respiratory infection, conjuntivitis, ear mites and fleas. He could barely open his eyes and his nasal passages were so sore his nose was bleeding. His fur was dirty and matted. The poor guy was miserable.

But, turns out he's not feral at all, but likely an abandoned pet. Over the next few weeks as Spitter was treated for his various ailments and started to feel better his true personality emerged. He's a big, lovey boy who loves to be stroked and brushed. His coat is no longer matted, but soft and shiny. He's a gorgeous boy - with longhaired orange and white fur and has a very loud purr!

He was neutered last week and, unfortunately, did test positive for FIV. However, a local no kill shelter has agreed to take him and is optimistic about finding him a home. Fortunately. Spitter's days of fighting other cats and being tormented by obnoxious neighborhood kids are over. Hopefully, he'll find a forever home, which will make this happy ending complete.

What a lucky break for Spitter! Thank goodness you were able to help him - this poor baby had been suffering far too long.

Got my fingers crossed for him that he'll soon have a home where he'll get all the loving and pampering he deserves.
