On a CHARCOAL grill! I've been spoiled all my life with gas grills, ( I can cook anything on a gas grill, it's a no brainer) and I was telling my mom how I wanted to buy a charcoal grill, and today she bought me one!
It's a large Weber but she also gave me her old small Weber to make little stuff on. Since I was only going to make like 3 burgers and asparagus on it, I figured I'd use the little one today while I set up the new one but it went really badly and I ended up having to take the grate off midway and add more coals and wait for them. It ended up taking me like 2 hours total from the time I started....

I should have experimented for the first time with hot dogs...
But I made blue cheese and mushroom stuffed burgers and asparagus with butter and garlic wrapped in foil.
I finally got it done and it was soooo good!!!!
What do you like to grill and how?
PS. Girls should NOT assemle grills....what a dork I am! J/K, after a few minor incidents, including me almost bashing my front teeth out by yanking something toward me that popped out way too easily, I managed to do it! Go girls!

Good thing you didn't bash your teeth out!

Those burgers sound delicious.

Ok, so I used ground beef (it's the fattiest but also the best tasting, IMO
) you can use any kind of beef. Make one large but thin patty, sprinkle crumbled bleu cheese in the middle, add mushrooms to the top of that, then sprinkle more cheese, and make another large thin patty and cover the other one. Make sure the sides are closed or everything will leak out. Don't be alarmed, they will look HUGE! They shrink.
Then just grill (to the best of your ability...
) You have to like bleu cheese because it gives it a distinct flavor you might not like if you're not used to it. You can use any kind of cheese, but it won't taste as "different."

Glad to hear you don't use the fluid. We had those electric coil things too. First one lasted 30 years, the replacement lasted only 30 days.

Now we use a coal chimney. You turn it upside down, load the bottom with wadded up newspapers, then invert it and load the coals into the top section. From lighting to grilling-ready coals - 10 minutes. No lighter fluid, no expensive coal that has that combustable stuff in it. It's real easy and better for the environment.

We didn't even pay for the chimney starter. Someone was tossing it out on the curb. Our town has one of those "throw anything out" days once every two years. Last time we picked up 5 or 6 full bags of coals as people were converting to gas grills. The next toss everything day is this coming weekend. The things people throw away! Some amazing finds. Brand new products still in the original boxes. Mind you we're not garbage pickers by habit or out of necessity, but this is truly an event.

Hmmm....I saw one on tv too, maybe I'll buy one and show my mom something SHE doesn't know for a change! Of course, I'll have to perfect it first, which means lots of grilling...darn!

We do burgers, hot dogs, brats (either boiled in the beer/onion mix first or not), chicken-no BBQ sauce till the end. Also potatoes, aspargus, steaks once in a while too. But we still have our gas grill not charcoal!!

Try doing a boneless chickenbreast soaked in your favorite sauce.. Cut the meat in 1 1/2 wide parts.. place on a coal grill.. great snacks.. another one is pulled pork. 1 large boston butt, soaked in garlic and good oil dressing,, place the meat in heavy foil with dressing soak overnight.. place on the grill in foil turning every 15 minutes, for 3 hours take out of foil save the juice place back on the grill till the bone pulls out.... let cool and have fun with two forks pull the meat,, serve on a bun with cole slaw on top( you can add your fav. bbq sause to the meat)) ROCKCATS BF LOVES THIS and she does a mean fish on the grill

We grill steaks, chicken, burgers, asparagus, vegetable skewers. Our grill is huge, it also has a smoker attached. For Easter, we smoked 3 different pork loin roasts, each with a different, unique rub applied, over apple wood. Oooh it was good!

I don't grill often, but my parent's are big time grillers. I guess I'm spoiled! My favorite is grilled salmon! Ooooooh it's soooo good! I'm gonna ask Mom tomorrow when she might plan on making that next!
