I didn't bother seeing that one...the one reason was the "pants" didn't fit all the girls. One girl was noticeably chubbier than the others.

Sorry I'm a BIG fan of british comedy...Liked Hitchhikers Guide and also the BBC TV Series, Red Dwarf.

My mom's friend let her borrow it and told her it was great. We watched it once and took it right back.. sooo horrible..

You didn't give it enough time! That was the last movie hubby and I have seen (we don't get to the movies often) and it started a bit slow but it got really funny a little further into it. And I hate most movies.

It's a lot easier for me to list movies I do like. The vast vast majority of the time, I feel like I wasted my time and money seeing a movie.
In general, I like any COMEDY with Jim Carrey or Adam Sandler (neither of them should attempt serious roles!). I haven't seen all of Anger Management yet (caught parts of it on 4 different occasions) but I loved what I saw.
Wasn't too crazy about Meet the Parents after hubby watched it for the 20th time, but we saw Meet the Fockers and laughed until we had tears and our sides hurt. 40 Year Old Virgin seriously cracked us up. Even now, we'll just spontaneousy say "Oh good. I thought you were a serial killer." LMAO
We both really like American Pie 1 & 2. I sometimes really like bathroom humor, but it really has to be done right (yeah, there's a right way to do bathroom humor!). American Wedding was pretty good but I agree with whoever said that Stiffler got too much time. The dance scene in the gay bar was really funny though.

Seriously my list of good movies numbers maybe only 10. Everything else I've seen, I thought sucked. And usually if it got REALLY bad reviews, I liked the movie!

Ohh you people who disliked Devils Rejects
I am obsessed with Rob Zombie's movies. I did like House of 1000 Corpses better. I have some great shirts from the movies. I met all the actors in the movies and I just love them and the films and everything!

And with The Village, the only thing I liked about it is Michael Pitt
who is a beautiful gorgeous person, and a good actor and musician. I also liked Titanic but mainly because of Kate Winslet who is a beautiful gorgeous person and a great actor

Anyways, for what I don't like:

Vanilla Sky (I dispise Tom Cruise)
Seven Years in Tibet (and the movie seemed to be 7 years long)
The Juniper Tree (with Bjork, and I LOVE Bjork and Dancer in the Dark)
Napolean Dynamite (I don't get it)
Sahara
Guess Who (I HATE Ashton Kutcher and Bernie Mac)
Gigli (we all know this was a horrible movie)

There are a bunch more but most are peobably movies no one has heard of

I agree that whoever put 40 Year Old Virgin didn't give it enough time. I am a fan of gross, bloody, violent, horror films, zombie movies, cult films, foreign films and stuff like that...40 Year Old Virgin is definately not my type of movie in the slightest... I thought it was stupid at the very first, but then , man it got hilarious! I thought it was actually pretty good.

~New World~ Ahhh....that movie drove me crazy!
It was WAY TOO LONG!! Not to mention silent and boring......

The ONE time I go to the movies and I get stuck with that one...

The whole movie was silent shots of that girl just sitting, smiling, staring, etc....

Don't ever go see it.....it's just a waist of time.

I gotta see Devils Rejects! I'm a huge fan of his music. You know it's all an act, right? I've heard that he is cool. Though, I was bothered some by House of 1K corpses. I really liked how he did the old school type of horror, though.

Hate that movie to this day! Though I can't actually blame the movie for that.
Sometimes roommates are almost as bad as having kids... one more reason I'll never do the roommate thing again...

Probably part of the problem is that my husband, while not a full-fledged Trekkie (i.e. he doesn't dress up for the conventions, doesn't actually speak Klingon, etc.), does like the movies and shows and therefore must own each of the 20 versions of the movies that have been released on DVD and forced me to watch them no matter how much I told him that I DON'T LIKE STAR TREK! He's since given up on that venture because it wasn't pleasant for either of us...
I'm not mad... really (you are forgiven... I understand most people don't understand our obsession)... and I am one of those Convention Geeks... have been for years. I do sci-fi and fantasy costume design as one of my multitude of hobbies. I don't do as many 'movie/tv copies' as most of my friends do, because, quite honestly, I have oodles more creativity than they do... (I'm safe to say that here... I highly doubt any of them are here) so I do original stuff, though I do still have my three Trek uniform tops [one red shirt duty top, one yellow duty top, and one yellow dress uniform top... which we madewithout a pattern and it turned out darn better than the ones who used a pattern... go figure... fanboys can't sew]. I also have a Galaxy Quest uniform... but pretty much everything else is original.

I wouldn't subject my enjoyment of Trek upon those who don't like it. The one movie I would have fellow sci-fi fans sit down for is the one I loosely quoted in my previous post (the 'don't be mean' bit). I doubt I'd make non-sci-fi folk watch it. Unless they wanted to. but I know a lot of sci-fi fans who either hate or have never watched/understood said movie. That would be Buckaroo Banzai [official title: The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai: Across the 8th Dimension]. This is my all time favorite movie... most people watch it once and don't understand it, so they give up or pass judgment [I hated that movie... blah blah blah] and didn't bother trying. It's campy, yes, but it's a heckuva lot more original than 95% of the crud that Hollywood has exported in the years since [it came out in 1984]. i tell folks that one has to watch it at least 5 times to really start understanding the complexities of the movie. Or, they can listen to me explain it.

I'm such a fangirl... and darn proud of it! [sorry, been hanging out with fellow geeks all weekend - who says geeks can't party? HAH!]

Buckaroo Bonsai is one of Earl's favorites too. He has two patches sown on his leather jacket, but that's about as fan-boy as he gets. Although he is hoping/planning to go to the StarCon this weekend. I've attended one with him and was thoroughly bored, so he's looking for a sci-fi fan friend to go with him. (But the Star Wars Celebration (first one) was a lot of fun - we went for all three days and had a blast!) I'm not opposed to all sci-fi, but I'm very particular about it - and Star Trek just never floated my boat.

I have the DVD..... I was a huge fan of the novels by Jean M. Auel. The movie was pale compared to the books, but like the Harry Potter series, it's enjoyable to see once you HAVE read the novels.

Plan Nine from Outer Space is at the top of my list.

Dumb and dumber (and other such ilk) are disgusting
Martians save Christmas (or some such name was horrid beyond belief)
All of the HUGE GIANT bugs/snakes/etc are going to kill us movies

For some reason my future mother in law loves that move. I haven't seen it.

Also... to add to my list... The Godzilla take off movies... like the ones with the giant iguana that's eating people, or the giant scorpions in the caves. (Can't remember the names.)

And the Caveman move with Ringo Starr. What was UP with that?

He should have mentioned it to Chris. We're both HUGE Star Trek fans. We own the dvds of TNG and DS9 and are working on Enterprise. And some of the movies.
