Do you like guacamole? I used to hate it but have been really loving it lately!
I want to make some, too. Does anyone have any tried and true really good recipes for it? Thanks!

I do like it...but I can only eat a little bit or mixed in with something. I've become allergic to avacados so I can't enjoy it so much. Wish I could....

I don't measure but here goes:

get two soft avocados. cut in half. remove pit and scoop out flesh

mash with a fork if you like it lumpy, put it in a blender if you like it smooth

add 1/4 tsp lemon juice
1 diced tomato
chopped cilantro to taste
a 1/2 tsp chili flakes

EAT !!!

Ok, sounds good! How about a guacamole contest? I'll be the judge. Bring on the recipes and I'll make them and judge them!
*3 weeks later, a 400 lb Shannon can't even fit at her computer desk to award the winner....* *sigh*

I LOVE guacamole! I never even tasted it until I was preggers with Shane, 6 yrs ago. Then I craved it so bad...I was at the Mexican restaurant all the time! Now a co-worker makes it...her recipe is similar to the one posted here...lots of mashed avacado, plus lemon juice. You can add sour cream, too, and the good thing is you can use fat free and it still tastes good.

Outside of North America, cilantro is usually called coriander.

It's also prevalent in Asian cuisine.

I take the easy way out with guacamole. I use the seasoning packets from Concord Foods that are shown here:

http://www.concordfoods.com/produce.html

It can be found in the produce section of the supermarket and comes out pretty tasty. The salsa one is good also. DO NOT BUY THE SPICY ONE! I love spicy foods, but it is a bit too much.

This sounds terrific, thank you! I've just recently tasted a wonderful recipe that included a dash of cumin, as well! It really added a new aspect to the flavor!
