Hi I'm doing a study into pet behaviour and am interested to hear from you. The poll is brief but if you'd like to tell me in more detail about your kittys behaviour problem, I'd love to hear. The results will eventually be published on my site and on here. Thanks
p.s. excuse the spelling mistake in the poll......it's been a long day!

Ollie's like one of those kids where a stranger will come up and be like "oh! what a little sweetie! So well behaved" and the mother responds "wanna take him home?" haha.... he can be the sweetest most lovable thing you've ever encountered: purring, head-butting, giving kisses, diving at your feet, taking catnaps with you..... but then he'll get in one of his "moods": ankle-biting, attacking your legs as your pant legs move, bunnykicking and biting your arm, chasing after the dog (not with claws out or biting, just tantalizing her: she's 12 and Ollie's 4, lol), scratching the doors.... gosh, it's like I've adopted Jekyll/Hyde's cat! The majority of the time he's the sweetie pie, but occasionally he turns into psycho cat!

Interesting study though.... may I ask what it's for? (just curious if it's like a college class thing, a veterinarian thing, etc... is all
)

Luna's moody. She can be such a cute angel one minute then hissing at you another minute.
I tease her that she's my teenage daughter
, which really, she's almost 2 so it would fall into that.

This is EXACTLY how Harley is, perfect description!

Are you sure that Ollie and Harley aren't related?

It is an interesting study ! Cant wait to see the outcome.
We have 3 kittens (~6mnths) and are all well behaved, the only thing they do that I say is naughty, is jump up onto my bench in the kitchen, even when they arent hungry.... but I dont think that's a behavoural problem......or is it ??

Thank you for your input. I will definately let you know the outcome.

Me and a friend also joke that dogs are like toddlers and cats are like teenagers. Its so true when we compare stories (she has dogs and i have cats).

I'm doing the study for my own interest really. I am an animal behaviourist and know the theory, and know individual animals that I have worked with. However I would love to do my own study and compare this to what I have learnt. Things are often different in reality to what the official studies say.

I have one good one and one bad one also. My two are complete opposites in every way. I still can't believe they are brothers!

Abi is unbelieveably good. Today we vacated the house for a while so it could be shown. we stayed in the car around the block because at least we'd have airconditioning. I let her out of her carrier and she explored the car and then I said " Ok Abi, time to go home" and patted the carrier. and she climbed right in, I buckled her up and we went home.

We got her in November and she has not destryed or broken anything. She had one accident because the automatic litter box scared her and when I say calmly "Abi, No." she stops what she is doing.

Sure i gave her alot of attention and structure when she first arrived but I am blessed to have such a wonderful companion.

Under a stack of blueberry waffles.
Pudge is a very laid-back (and decently independent cat.

She doesn't claw furniture. Just my legs when she gets overexcited occasionally (every once in a while when I come home from work, for example). It is only when I wear jeans. She's figured out that they're not my skin, and appears to be trial-and-erroring a way to use them as scratching posts without hurting me.

If I say "ow" (which I do whether or not I actually feel claw. I usually only feel the very tips of them, painlessly. She's perfected it well, but she doesn't need to be reinforced in that behavior) , she stops and looks at me, then rubs around my legs, purring.

I just put a little more catnip on her cat tree and put her on it. She understands, and scratches the tree vigorously every time this is done.

Overall, she is a very good cat, in my book. I honestly do not even consider the above a behavior problem. She just gets overexcited sometimes. The aforementioned scratching is usually preceded by a lot of happy meows, purring, headbutts, and petting.
