Really though, I kind of like days like today...when else do you get to go into work and basically surf the web while being paid??

I want these days off!
I'm at work but we have no consumers today. I'm 'catching up' on grading and ummmm....catching up on TCS too....in a bit we're going to Applebee's for a lunch meeting! Monday is back to normal!
Its what they call a training holiday here. I have no soldiers coming to see me so I can surf the web all day (not supposed to but I am anyway). The base is quiet!! Monday is also a training holiday.

I work on Ft.Benning the army post in Columbus. I am the person who issues ice and sodas and stuff to the guys who come in for training and their mess halls. (I hope I didn't give away national security with that just kidding). I also do the accounting for my office. I make sure the monies from my issues add up to what the computer says we issued. That is a pain in the hiney!!

Unforunately yes. But it IS a step up from the old men I used to attract where I used to work. None of them had any teeth!!

I have to agree with Danielle. Monday is a state holiday in Massachusetts.
Our office is closed both days!
I was going to get so much accomplished today, but instead I went shopping this morning (got some new shoes!) and am now spending quality time here!
The owner of the company I work for is Jewish (not that there is anything wrong with that) so we dont get many holidays off unless we request it
Yep - I'm off both days, but then I just got back from a business trip yesterday and Tuesday I'll be straight back on a plane for my next one
so, no slacking here!
I don't have a job....and I got my GED last January, so every day is a day off
(I AM looking for a job though...maybe I'll see if the vet has any openings for a receptionist
