Is it more to the top of the head, or the back of the neck? If it is the back of the neck, she is most likely trying to figure out how to carry them(if this is her first litter). The only pregnent cat I've ever taken care of took a few tries to figure it out.

You're welcome. Congrats on a smooth birth.

Keep her indoors and away from the male if he is not neutered yet (and I would recommend getting him neutered as soon as you can. After neutering, keep them seperate because sperm can be stored for up to a month after neutering). Cats can go into heat and get pregnant as early as a week after giving birth. She can be spayed when the kittens are weaned (around 8 weeks old).

First-time mothers will usually walk away from their litters to hang out with their owners a few times. I suggest confining her to a low-traffic room where you spend a lot of time.

obviously your alpha cat is not neutered. first thing is that a female cat whom has just given birth can get pregnant extremley soon after giving birth. Secondly the male cat can get aggressive at these new kittens and try to hurt them to get at the mama cat.

are you playing on getting the male cat neutered and female spayed?

not sure what to advise but it is imperative that they are kept separate
