So, how many of you keep picking the wrong guys? (Or girls, depending) 1 month into this relationship and it's fizzled out already. So much in common, don't know what the problem is??????

Was that "the young guy" or a different guy?... or maybe a different young guy?
I don't pick the wrong girls. Right now I just don't pick any.

Shannon, you pick the wrong guys because you aim too low and set yourself up for disappointment. Just kidding. What the heck would I know?

No, the "young guy" is long gone! This is a new one, I can't keep track anymore!

Yeah, I expect a "storybook story" but who would have guessed the story would be Nightmare on My street?

Maybe not so stupid cuz I'll say I THINK it means I'm on the really late flight on my way to Canada? Red eye means you have red eyes cuz it's late and you're tired? I'm not sure so don't laugh if I'm wrong!

Oh that makes sense to me now then. Make sure you buckle up and relax, 'cause you're in for one heck of a ride when you get here.

No. I'm talking about all the big potholes in the roads from spring thaw if I picked you up from the airport.
Bumper cars would be smoother.

So, what were the events, (or lack thereof) that caused this one to fizzle out?

Its ok Shannon. Mr. Right will be with you before you know it. I think we all go through a few scum bags before we find "the one" I don't know anyone that hasn't had atleast one dirt bag boyfriend/girlfriend.

You would not believe the freakshow I went through before I finlly opened my eyes and saw what was standing right in front of me. I really thought there was nobody out there tht was right for me that was not a complete loser.
I wish I had not been so hard headed when my sweetie of 21 years told me that we would end up together. I am just so glad he was still interested when I came to my senses. He was my best friend, and I was afraid I would lose him as a friend if the relationship split. I was so wrong! We are still best friends and a great couple.

Movin' on up!
You have to kiss a lot of toads, before you meet your handsome prince. After 48 years of toads, I have warts on my lips

Honestly, I am normally a sensible person but, when I fall in love, I fall hard and my brains leak out of my ears. That's caused a lot of heartaches but, at times, its been a fun ride.

I keep trying, though. I've gotten it right, once and I KNOW that I can do it again

I look at it as you have to have a few (or several) wrong guys to date in order to appreciate the good ones.

Shannon, do you actually pick them - or do you wait until they pick you and settle? DON'T settle!!! Go out and get the one you really want.

I actually did a driveby in the neighborhood where I knew the guy I wanted lived. I found his apartment and saw his shoulder in the window. Oh yes, I DID. I recognized him by his shoulder. It took me about 10 minutes to get up the nerve to get out of the car. I didn't know how to find his place from the inside so I took a deep breath and yelled to him from his front lawn.

That was 4 years ago. We are getting married in 8 days!!!

Go get 'em girl - even if that means stalking Wyan!

I used to do this, only I'd get bored and ditch them after a couple weeks. I don't consider it a bad thing.. just that I don't like to wasted time on a relationship I know isn't going anywhere! I tend to attract the obsessive type.

Theeeennnnnn I met my current boyfriend, and broke that pattern. I think it just takes time to find the right guy who doesn't drive you nuts
That's not to say me and my boyfriend get along perfectly all the time, but he's not obsessive, has a plan for the future, and treats me better than anyone else has in the past.

So, he's out there! just gotta find him.

My life has a long trail of wrong guys.

I gave up when I hit 30, stopped looking completely, and the right guy found me

Well he was really sweet at first and seemed really into me, but when I asked him if we were exclusive, he kept dodging the issue, and just went down hill from there. Now we hardly talk anymore, and I saw him last night and he seemed really "off" and I asked what he was doing for Easter, as a last straw, to give it a chance, and he said "depends what time I wake up." I was like "Whatever, I'm done."

Yep, that's exactly how I am. I think I go into every relationship hoping he's "the one" because I'm not one to waste time on someone just to "have fun." I know that sounds wrong, like I should just relax and see where it takes me, but I want to have kids and personally, to me, I'm running out of "comfortable time" to do that. I don't want to be 40 having my first kid. So I guess I hope for too much when I meet someone. ( I don't tell THEM this, I don't want them to scare away!
)

I am kind of shy at first, so I don't typically "go for" anything, but about a month ago I did buy a guy a drink (with persuasion from a friend) and we did go on like 2 dates and then he gave me the "let's just be friends" speech...I've been gun shy ever since...

By the way, I'm surprised at the amount of you that think it's because Wyan lives in Canada!
