can someone help me please

ok my kittie time has come to get nutered and possibly declawed. i know ppl i should not declaw him but he is detroying everything. anyways i was wondering if anyone new where i can get him nutered for free or cheap sence im kinda low on money right now . well any suggestions well help. also we live in a apt with 2 cats and it kinda stinks cuz the litter box any suugestions for that .

I will not go into my rant against declawing - if you do a quick search on this site, you will find the majoirty opinion on that here... I will just tell you that declawing your cat is the same thing as having all of your fingers (and if your do four paws, also your toes) amputated - just think of what that would be like for you and consider alternative options like soft paws or soft claws, supplying correct proper scratching places, or taking the little bit of time needed to train your cat to keep him from destroying things...

As for low or no cost spay and neuter places... go to animal planet's website and there will be a link on a menu on the left-hand side of their home page for low-cost spay/neuter places (under "Pet Connection")... you click on that and enter your zip code and they will list any places near you.

to add to this... rule on litterboxes is one for each cat plus one

please dont declaw. You can end up with a bunch of problematic behaviors because you have taken something so important away from your cat. Trimming their claws is very easy to learn and do and then they wont damge furniture. plus a few sisal rugs... some on the floor and maybe one stapled vertically on a non moving surface will let them stretch and scratch. It's important for their mental health.

As for the litter: I know that the worlds best cat litter (multicat) is expensive but you don't have to change it that often. Mine can go for more than two months before smelling faintly. Get a really large pan and put the litter in deep. then urine seldom has the chance to hit the bottom of the pan before it clumps into a ball. and if you have two cats you need three litter pans. One for each cat and one for extra. sorry about that.

In regards to the litter tray issues, as mentioned; what sort of litter and trays are you using? What sort of food are they eating, as this can often cause stinky poop!

TCS has very strong views about declawing. If you read back through your thread, most people gave you their opinion on declawing along with other helpful alternatives. I also see advice listed for litterbox issues as well as spay/neuter. I don't think telling people to "clam down" after expressing their opinions and giving you advice after you asked for it is very polite.

Well check out the article on low cost spay/neuter link given above. Call around to your vets to see if they have a low-cost option. Or you can call the humane society and ask them if they know when the next low-cost s/n clinic will be done and any info you need on that.

I've used them before until I got the unwanted behavior fixed and then I have no longer needed to use them. They work great but you do need to reapply them from time to time.

Welcome to TCS. We are very glad to have you come here for advice. Please do not feel that anyone is yelling at you for considering declawing. It is a very heated issue on here, and we all just want you have a happy, healthy kitty, and declawing is not the way to have that. Soft Paws and plenty of other stuff to scrtach on will make for a much happier and better behaved kitty
Many places have low cost spay and neuter clinics, so unless you are in a very rural area, you should be able to find one. I just had a female cat spayed for $30 in Wilmington, NC.

I'm sorry if I seemed to blow up on my first post... when I take a strong stance on something, I never back down I wasn't trying to yell, I just didn't take a few seconds to breathe before going into my views on declawing and explaining what it actually is like for a cat who's declawed....

And I agree with the earlier post, that it is a very heated debate that no one sits on the fence about, so emotions run high... but there were also suggestions given about alternatives to declawing, spaying and neutering and your litterbox problem... again, I apologize...
