Hi! This morning my cat had a small amount of clear discharge. It seems to have stopped now from what I can tell. She is acting different kinda. She keeps going under my bed and refuses her box which she lived in for the past 3 weeks! The only time she will come out from the bed is to lay on my 5 year old daughter or to follow her around. This cat and my daughter are the best of friends! I'm kinda worried she is clinging to my daughter because she is going to deliver very soon! I tried putting her in the bathroom but she cries to come out to be with my daughter. I realize she feels safe with my daughter, but is this safe to let her be with her at this time? My daughter is very calm and loving with her but I'm not sure if this is a good thing or not. Any opinions?

Did you want your daughter to be present when the cat delivers the babies? If so, then why not set up her nesting box in your daughter's room or in a room where your daughter spend the bulk of her time?

Aww as long as your daughter is gentle as you say I think it is a good idea to let her have the babies where she is most comfortable and happiest. If with your daughter is where she choses and you are fine with letting your daughter experience the birth then go for it. She sounds like a sweet cat and a sweet daughter too.

I think it would be OK as long as your child understands to observe only and to get you if there is something wrong. Have her whisper.
