Skimbleshanks Amadeus Houdini, a juvenile male domestic shorthair, was last seen in Dayton, Ohio, after his new cat sitter didn't close the door quickly enough, and he got out. He's been gone for a month, now.

He's microchipped and probably wearing his collar and ID tag; he's neutered but not declawed (thank goodness!). He's approximately two years old; in the pictures he's about a year old, but I don't have any newer ones.

I took care of him before this new cat-sitter arrived on the scene; and even though Skimble isn't my cat, I grew to love him. I'm worried about him: He's a good hunter--brought down his first mouse at only nine weeks of age--but that doesn't teach him anything about cars and big unaltered feral toms. He's been an indoor cat all his life.

So... if you see a cat that looks like this little orange tabby, run him through a microchip scanner... he might just be our Skimble.

I made that little catnip mouse in the picture myself... even grew the catnip!

Here's another Skimble pic... the knee in the picture is mine, and he's got a possessive paw on me. He's looking very content!

This is one of Skimble's little quirks... he'll let you hold him against your shoulder; he'll sit next to you and lean his head on you; but he absolutely refuses to sit on your lap!

Skimbles's owners just had to move... several states away. So the microchip really is his only hope now (other than a friendly human adopting him as their own).

Catsknowme, that article is crazy! Seven years lost, and then found...

You know, Skimble really is such an engaging, friendly little cat. I wouldn't be surprised if someone else had adopted him, just like what must have happened to Cheyenne. And he *is* microchipped.

I don't wanna wait seven years, though.
