Well, I think I have found the cause for his diarrhea. I opened a new can of KMR yesterday, seemed fine, I started investigating the formula this morning, as formula is all kittens drink, I thought I would go to the source. It was VERY curddley, even after shaking--I usually pour the formula into a human baby bottle (easier to pour and see), with lid on, so I can shake before each use--but this curdle is definetly worse than a little settling at the bottom of the bottle. Got a call into the vet, haven't heard back yet. (Of course they open at 10 am cdt.)

I feel like such a terrible momma!!!!

I ran out to Walmart and grabbed some hartz until the pet store opens. Has anyone used Hartz, and what do they think of it?

Awww..please do not feel bad. You could not possibly have known that the KMR had gone bad.
I've never used the Hartz formula before, but let us know how it goes.

I use the hartz forumla to feed Gemma, and I would have used it last night with Echo (it was too late, though). I like it, since I can't afford KMR, so yeah, I think it works pretty well (for the momma, though...but I'm sure it's fine with kittens).

The formula was brand new, opened it yesterday, and refridgerated it, which is what I don't understand. Got to the pet store, picked up more KMR, and feeding that, and keeping a close eye. My worst fear is little man getting some into his lungs. The vet told me that if I hear crackling noises during breaths, that I should hold him upside down, and call him. After what I went through yesterday with the vet, I'd like some reassurance, as this sounds, well, like torture!!

Okay, we just pooed, and it is loose, not watery like yesterday's poo. Urine is good, and we seem to be hydrated. I'm breathing a sigh of relief for now. However, his poor bottom is irritated. Vet said to try desitin, but it seemed to make his bottom even more red, so we switched to a tiny, tiny bit of vaseline, and stimulating movements with a clean finger, and tepid water (he HATES it). I've been trying not to get attached, but he's worked his way into my heart. I've called the vet more times today than I called my daughter's doctor when she was born!!! I'm sure they think I'm nuts.
