One of my week old kittens , starting panting yesterday, He only did it for about 10 secs and then didn't do it again, can anyone tell me why he would be doing this??

Is his mouth wide open when he does it? Did he only do it when you walked up? He might be trying to hiss, which tiny kittens will do. It looks a lot like panting, but it's harmless (just don't tell them that). I had one who would do it a lot. I called him "the hissing dustbunny".
If hissing is the case, he'll stop doing it around you once he gets used to your scent.

Ya my Squeeky started doing it about 2wks ago, the first time it was totally silent, i just saw his mouth opening and shutting...Then with practice he would make alittle noise..At first I thought he was gasping for air and was ready to do CPR..But then I realized oh, Im supposed to be frightened
I bet it is so cut to hear the first little hiss.
