Bless you and your fellow fosterers for watching out for these little ones. Poor Mia, she is fighting for her life, and can't care for those babies. I'm sorry two have slipped away. Prayers that Momma heals, and the other babies begin to do better. They may have been affected by the infection she is fighting, poor little sprites.

May God watch over you and Millie as you care for his precious creatures.

Thanks for the prayers, everyone.

Just came home from running errands and had a message from Millie that we lost the little tabby too.
This is really hitting her hard. In the 10+ years she's been doing this she's never lost an entire litter. I tried reminding of all the successes, but it doesn't seem to mean much right now. She could use some prayers too. I hope the little tuxedo, who's been the most lively of the litter, pulls through and that we can get Mia healthy again. She's completely feral but a gorgeous Siamese mix. Once she's spayed she has wonderful, caring site to go back to. Please keep those prayers coming.

Our vet confirmed that Mia has pneumonia, so she's now being treated for that, along with being forced fed and given liquids. She's still very weak and unable to care for the remaining kitten, who was still with us as of early afternoon. Seems to be a feisty little one, but we know realistically his chances are limited. Millie's trying to find another cat to feed him but hasn't been able to find locate a nursing mama with kittens close to his age yet. Our next youngest litter is four weeks old. Please keep praying that Mia and her baby pull through. Thanks!

The tuxedo kitten is still with us - what a little fighter. Good news is that Millie was able to locate a nursing mama with newborn kittens through a shelter we work with with and they've agreed to take the little one for now. Meanwhile, Mia is still weak but did eat a little bit on her own for the first time in a week. Our vet expects her to fine with a lot of rest and good care.

Oh that's wonderful news that you found both a surrogate for the last kitten and mom has a good prognosis for a return to health. I can only imagine how hard it was on momma and how hard it is on her foster mom to watch all this happen. She will be in my prayers!

The surrogate mama didn't pan out for the remaining little one.
He's a week old today and still hanging on. Please keep the prayers coming for this little guy and Mia. She's continuing to improve.

Day 8 and the little guy is still hanging on. Millie says he's started to purr every time she feeds him.
She hasn't named him yet because she's afraid too get attached. I don't think that's working though because she mentioned last night how hard it's going to let him be adopted if he does survive. She thinks if she can get him past the two week mark his chances of survival are good. His mama, meanwhile, is continuing to improve and should be fine.

The little one now is nine days and hold and still hanging in there. I really want to name him, but that's up to Millie. I was thinking Frankie (for St. Francis of Assisi, whom I've been praying to a lot this week).

Still no luck find a surrogate mother. Millie has decided that if the kitten makes it through the weekend, she's going to see if we can wean our oldest litter of kittens (almost 7 weeks) a little early, and hope their mama will accept and nurse him.

Thanks everyone for your continued prayers for this little guy. I'll try to get a picture of him tonight.

Our little guy is really in need of prayers. He was sneezing and very congested last night, so Millie suspects he now has an upper respiratory infection. He's eating well, but is pretty weak. He's 10 days old today and is starting to open his eyes. Millie doesn't seem very optimistic about his chances for survival, but is determined to do all she can for him. Please keep the prayers/vibes coming for this little one.

The little guy, Frankie (it's officially his name now) was at the vet this morning and definitely has an upper respiratory infection. He's being treated and is eating well, but the concern is that the infection will reach his lungs. If so, he doesn't have a chance. In the midst of this we found a surrogate mom for him at one of the shelters whose three are 2 1/2 weeks old. Just about the right age for him and he needs other kitties! Unfortunately, he can't be exposed to her or the other kittens right now. Please send all the prayers/vibes you can spare that Frankie pulls through. The good news is that his mom, Mia, is growing stronger and eating well on her own. Thanks!

Just wanted to update everyone on Frankie, our little fighter! The URI has left him very weak. To give his foster mom a bit of a break he's temporarily in the care of one of the founders of a local no kill shelter, who's seen many newborn kittens through their first few weeks of life. Frankie is being tube fed and, in spite of how weak he is, still has a good appetite. His foster moms feel the next couple of days are critical if he's going to survive. Thanks so much for the prayers for Frankie and please keep them coming!
