I thought I would start this thread to help people buying a new camera. Members here tend to take a lot of pictures of their furkids (this is evident by the large number of threads in furpictures only!) and this thread may be a good resource.

I have a Sony CyberShot DSC-T9 which I really like.

PLEASE NOTE: Don't put down a pariticular brand so we don't get TCS in trouble!

We have pocket size Olympus CX which is great and hubby bought himself a Canon EOS 350D last year.

We use both, the Olympus is excellent for carrying around when travelling light and takes really good photos. The Canon is a lot bigger and a lot more complicated to operate
but is much more versatile.

It is so much easier than film, it doesn't matter how many you take the poor ones can be deleted
and the rest put directly onto disc.

All hail the digital revolution

My "big" camera is a Nikon Coolpix 5700 - I love it

But, sometimes, a girl needs a small camera that will fit into her handbag, so for Christmas hubby bought me a Canon Ixus 55. It's a great little camera, actually better with the onboard flash than my Nikon and the video is better in lowlight than my Nikon too. But the lens quality is not quite as high so the resolution isn't as good as the Nikon, it's good, but about what you'd expect from a compact camera I guess.

I have one of those little keychain cameras..
I'd like to get a regular one sometime, though.

I just recently purchased the Canon 350D SLR - 8.0megapixals (not that i ever need it to be so high)

I previously had a Canon Powershot but I used to want to throw it against the wall.... this new camera is one of the best things I have ever bought!

You just want to show off, don't you?!!

I use a Canon A80 (bought years ago) and it works fantastically for a digi!
You just need to be able to work with it!
(it has the elements of an SLR without the weight and adjustments)
