Hi there,

one of our older bengals has just started spraying up the doors in the house and urinating on clothing etc. She has never done it before and doesnt seem stressed or anything. Theres been no changes around her in the way we live and the kittens are now almost fully grown.
Any ideas on whats wrong with her.??

Not neutured- not going to be neutered until July 2006 along with the others, so please do not drop the suggestion that she needs neutering. Thanks

Maybe it's UTI......My Willow's really good about using the box but one time when she got a UTI she couldn't help but go other places.

Hi thanks for the suggestion but shes been checked for that and nothing has appeared on the results, also she is as we would put it a novice to the mating game and has never been within 20feet of a male so im not sure where she would have got one from.

We do have a male but hes a gay as they come and completely uninterested in the girls. Shame really because he would make a wonderful stud.

It doesnt smell either so its not urine, just seems a bit wierd.

Whole females will sometimes spray to attract a mate. She may be coming into heat. I'd keep her confined till you get her spayed.

My oldest cat also does it. She has a very posessive/protective personality, and I think she does it to claim her territory. She doesn't do it in the house, only in the back yard. If you didn't know she was female, you'd swear she was a male. She does the tail twitch and all.
edit-- She has also been spayed!!
