I have 14 of my feral cats spayed and neutered and now I need containment. I messaged Hissy because hers looks so wonderful for the cats. They look happy, not miserable. That is what I want. I want the cats to be safe but happy. I found one dead in his shelter about 2 weeks ago. I think he was poisoned. It is so hard to deal with that. I love them all. If anyone has any ideas please help. My sister is coming to help this week and we have no experience on building a fence but we have determination and God. Any info on this would be appreciated. Please help. People around here tell me they are just cats. Let them loose and don't worry about it. I am sick and tired of crying and burying my cats that should have lived for years and would have,

if not for packs of dogs, cars and people trying to kill rats.
Thanks for any help

Hi,

I know exactly how you feel. For the past 11 years I've been caring for a mess someone else made. When I started taking care of their cats there were over 40. 7 years to get them all spayed/neutered and now there are only 18 left. I couldn't take losing them anymore. Coyotes, the road and these stupid people recently kept a dog that would get loose and killed five of them last fall. My husband knew I was just about ready to break and he helped me get a 16x20 enclosure built in our backyard. I can email you pictures if you would like to see it. There are some things I would do differently but the cats seem to like it. Take care and good luck.

As I said when I answered you, if you have the money to invest, the Purr...fect Fence is a good investment. Or if you are handy or know someone who is, ask them to build an outdoor enclosure for you. Ours ran $2,500.00 and is still a work in progress, but if you added up all our vet bills in the years my cats went inside/outside and were faced with all the dangers, it has more than paid for itself.
