He has been driving the same Toyota truck since 1990. We decided it was time for him to have a new vehicle to drive. We got a super deal on a 2001 Nissan. The '87 Toyota is being passed on to our son. It has over 200,000 miles, but runs like a charm. We just hope the Nissan will be that tough. Sixteen years is a long time to drive the same vehicle. He is so happy with his new truck.

So many people keep saying to "BUY AMERICAN" but those foreign cars hold up soooo well!

I used to drive a dodge ram 50 and it really was a Mitsobishi(sp?) and it ran with NO gas, NO tune up, NO oil! Just kept on keeping on!

Actually, he bought me a new Buick Regal year before last and I am enjoying it so much. It is a good driving, good riding medium size car. The gas mileage is good, and I can't complain. He always looks after me first. I think I had about three different cars during the time he drove that 87 Toyota truck. So I am very thrilled that he finally decided to buy himself something nice to drive. It rides good and he is loving it.

Oh, congrats! What a pennypincher he is, to drive a truck for 16 years! I took my last vehicle, a Ford van, from 50,000 miles to over 200,000 miles, but it only took about 5 years! LOL!

Congrats to him on his "new" truck, and your son getting his old truck!

Congrats on your new truck! I think Nissan is a good company to go with, I've had a great experience owning my Altima and I've heard only positive reviews from others that have owned Nissan vehicles as well. My Altima is now my 'beater' as it is 12 years old but still runs beautifully and looks great other than a few ditching dents
I refuse to get rid of it, I'll run that thing right into the ground but I don't expect that to happen anytime soon. Other than some minor tune ups it purrs like a kitten. I think you've made a wise choice
