Well, to answer why..... when she gets pregnant, I let her live in the house but last night I was petting her while she was standing in my lap and she sprayed me on my arm and clothes, I was shocked, I have never expierienced this before. anyway, I put her in the garage where my male is and noticed his behavior, I have never seen my male do this before..... but I guess your right I should let her come back in the house, or figure something out fast.....

Why does she only get to come in the house when she is pregnant? It hasn't happened with all of my queens, but females will spray just like a male, for different reasons.
Did you plan this breeding?

Orig. from Texas.. Currently in Minnesota (again)
i have a couple of questions...

1.are you letting her get pregnant because you are a breeder?
2.why isn't she (and he) been spayed and neutered and do you have plans to get them s/n?
3. (already been asked) why is she only allowed in the house when she is pregant?

i could go on but i won't. all cats "spray" and it is very important that (unless you are a breeder and i don't mean BYB) that for the health of your kittys they be taken to the vet and s/n as soon as you are able to have it done.

i was lucky neither salem or ailey sprayed (that i ever noticed) and merlin was fixed when i got him. i took the other two to get fixed asap and things are sooo much better now! i don't have to worry about heat cycles and spraying and the kittys being cranky and they are healthier and more likley to live longer lives also.

I think you answered most of my remaining questions with the profile.

Hi well the only question I think you need a reply to is why can she only come in the house when she is pregnant? My 1 female sprays when she is in heat so She stays in the garage with the male at that time. (I trade the male and female off with comming into the house on certain days after breeding.) the females permanatly stay in the house when they get pregnant, have kittens and for a year there after till they are healthy to breed again.
I never had this issue with my female where she spayed while pregnant she is obviously still in heat... (right?) Does anyone know how long this will last? (Her heat while shes pregnant?)
P.S. My garage is actually a cat haven with cat toys hanging from the cieling play mice and balls with bells, mirrors, 2 cat post as high as the ceiling, a radio, 4 comfortable cat beds, a life size stuffed animal bear. sometimes they actually prefer to be in the garage than in the house..
I am not cruel to my cats I love them very much and do my best to secure their happiness.

May I ask, why you cross Ragdolls and Himalayans?
Your first post said your female was already pregnant, and the male still mounting. How far along do you expect her to be?
Your last post seems to suggest they have bred, and she just hasn't went out of heat yet.
I do realize that some breeders allow their cats to go into outdoor enclosures to play, I know that it is only when the temperatures allow. Do you have heating and air during the colder and hot seasons?
I have used Feliway with great success with my spraying females, to the point it is completely controlled. I don't know if everyone has that much success with it, but you might give it a try. I use the spray, as it seems the plug ins don't have as much of a response.

there was a time when I wanted a ragdoll Crossed with himmi, (still do). I like the long hair of the himmis and the soft rabbit fur of the ragdolls and the personality of the ragdoll and the himalayan. I expect her to be a couplr months pregnant.. I keep it warm in there in the colder months with a large hearter.. (it costs a bundle) If you dontmind me asking, What is Feliway? where do you get it?

A cat is only pregnant for approximately 9 weeks, has she delivered?
I would like to try to respectfully encourage you to spay and neuter your pets. Ragdolls are their own breed, they are known for certain traits such as the non-matting coats, the large size. Reputable breeders strive to better (or at least maintain) breed standard. They do specific health tests to make sure the cats/kittens they are producing have no genetic problems.
I love Himalyans, but the temperament of a Himi and a Ragdoll are completely different.
If breeding is something you enjoy, I would suggest more research into breeding, and finding a mentor in the breed you choose. HCM and PKD testing should be done at the least with persians/himi's, and if the Ragdoll lines have outcrossing, then HCM and PKD is recommended as well.
Keeping your male and female together only a few days will ensure an accurate date of delivery, as well as the female isn't being bred over and over again. There has been a lot of discussion lately on females conceiving twice and delivering premature kittens. This is something you should avoid.
If you go to petfinder and do a national search, you will find many mixed cats called Ragdoll/Himalayan, as well as many other irresponsible matings that should never have occured creating more moggies.
