molly has been coming to me to let me feel her belly for the last week or so. she calls to me, and jumps up onto my lap and pushed her body in tight to mine , i cup her belly in my hands and can feel her little babbies kicking. molly looks at me purring contently. seeming to enjoy the attention. personally i think she is terrified of the movement inside her and is coming to me for reassureance. the kitties are really active and sometimes when moll is lying a sleep she will wake up with a start looking at her belly and meiow.

i have made a safe place for her in every room (apart from the kitchen and my daughters room).

once she has the kittens all places will be safe enougth to raise them.
i did try intoducing her to a dog cage but she dosnt liek it, and i doubt very much she will litter in there.

she also still wants to go into the back garden. she cant escape but enjoys the fresh air and basking in the sun.

i have decided to let her do as she wants and be as calm as possible, that way she will be mor eliekly to come to me for help.
her nipples are huge and feel slightly crusty, they have been liek that for about 2 weeks now.
her belly is getting bigger and bigger each day.

she has been looking at all the nesting places i have made for her, also hanging round by cuboards, and dark places.
she seems to be getting fed up now,. i knwo how she feels!

how can i tell when they will be due?

she is spending more and more time sleepinf flat out, and for the past few days she has not been eating as much, althoguth still as active and chirpy as usual.

I don't have any answers this is my first pregnant cat also. My cat has been doing the same thing! This Tuesday will make the 4th week! I don't know about your cat but mine seems ready to pop lol I was told by the vet I had about 2 weeks and that was 4 weeks ago. So the best I can say is you just have to sit and wait lol easier said then done! Good Luck!!! Maybe someone else has better advice.

I would seriously encourage you to keep her indoors only. Whether she can escape or not is not my concern...my concern is that she goes into labor outdoors. The other issue I have with allowing your cat to continue to go outside is that it isn't just a matter of her getting out...it's also a matter of other cats getting to her.

Additionally, she will need to be confined after she has her kittens....cats are induced ovulators which means that as early as a week after giving birth she can become pregnant again. We definately want this to be Molly's only litter, so if she is a cat that is likely to get outside....then you may want to confine her to a particuliar room with no access to the outdoors (even accidentally) and make sure your daughter understands not to let her back outside. Molly can enjoy the fresh air and back garden again once she has been safely spayed (after the kittens are weaned). Consider it a 3 month sabitical for Molly to ensure that she does not become pregnant again and has her litter safely.

ok,
molly has now been confined to the bathroom. i chose this room becasue it will be more sanatery for the kittens, having a tiled floor in there, with mats i can wash. also i have a large inbuilt cupboard in there, and molly has been spending a lot of time in there. the room has good heating.

i have placed her litter tray in there and her food and water. and given her several places to sleep.

also put a few cat toys in there.

i knwo she isnt going to liek it.
any ideas on how to keep her amused?

i assume it is ok to take her out to give her cuddles?
as long as she cant escape?

When I had my foster cat...I kept her in the bathroom as well (good choice of room by the way) I would often go in and spend time with my foster cat cuddling and playing with her. I don't see anything wrong with letting Molly out for cuddles..as long as she cannot get outside.

I kept my foster mom's food, water, litterbox, nesting box and several toy balls and toy mice in there for her. What she enjoyed most was spending time with me.

Please keep us informed on how it goes with Molly.
