I noticed this morning a really light colored pencil thin poop from Angel and it look like she was straining. Would it be okay to give her some of the cats hairball remedy to help her pass whatever is in there? Or would some wet dog food help? I try to keep the house as clean as possible but the dog finds the strangest things to chew on and then when I try to get it from her.... she swallows it.

Thanks all!

I give my dog a little plain yogurt or canned pumpkin when he strains.

Okay. I'll pick up some pumpkin on the way home tonight. I gave her some wet food with some of the hairball stuff. Poor thing.

make sure you get the unspiced pumpkin and not the pie filling. The spices could make you have messes to clean up :p

Real pumpkin is what you need, pie filling has a load of unhealthy stuff in it. Straight pumpkin is very beneficial though.

If he starts scooting his butt on the floor, make sure you get him in to have his anal glands expressed.

Be careful not to give too much pumpkin, it can cause "the runs" too
. I was told to give 1 tbsp twice a day with meals when my dog needed fiber to firm up her stools when switching dog food. The pure pack pumpkin (100% pumpkin) is usually with the canned pie fillings.

The cats hairball stuff worked just fine. WHen I came home we played hard for about an hour and then she went out and did a big potty. So I guess I'm going to have to use the pumpkin for a pie.

I give my Lab a tbsp of yogurt a day and it helps him a lot. He used to have softer stools and since adding the cultures he has regular, firm stools.
