Best thing to use for carpet *stains*

I would say either Natures Miracle or Nok-Out. I was JUST ABOUT to post a thread asking which one everyone thinks would be better. I have used Nok-Out and it works magically But it is REALLY expensive. With shipping it is $47.00 for a gallon of it! Just wondered if Natures Miracle is better or the same and if anyone has an opinion on it?

I don't have *that* problem thank goodness. My problem is cleaning up vomit. I usually use woolite pet stain remover or resolve pet stain remover and haven't had any problems.

I have that same issue with Sierra. Resolve hasn't worked for us, suppose we should try Woolite. Wonder if that Nok Out would work for vomit stains?

I use Simple Solution Cat Stain and Odour Remover or 1001 Pet Stain Cleaner!

I only recently discovered Simple Solution, but it really works well on new and old stains*!!

*Pet stains and general household stains!

Chem-Dry, sold exclusively at Home Depot, is the best thing I've found for such messes.

Oh how strange! I can't understand why a product for cats would say keep away from!

Mine states that it's safe for use around children and pets! It also mentions in the disclaimer bit that "while incidental contact with this product is not harmful to pets and humans, please keep out of reach of children"

I use my Simple Solution to clean litter trays, the kitchen floors and kitchen counters!

I have both a version specifically for cats and one for general pets - both of which say the same thing!

If you are worried, I still stand with my offer of sending you the UK version, as I have not had any problems with it at all! I am confident with everything the packaging has said, as I'm happy to prepare meals on a surface cleansed with it!

Tea tree oil is all natural and removes ANYTHING and smells so fresh and clean. I get a particular brand, but any tea tree oil will do. Tea tree oil is also used for healing and stuff. I used it on my cats ringwormns when they had it, if I saw a new one I'd use that and it would stop it from growing. Its VERY multi purpose. I removed permanent marker from my dry erase board(hubby wrote on it) just wiped it right off =o)

Do NOT use anything with Tea Tree Oil around cats!!!! It is extremely toxic to cats.

One of our members' cats died mysteriously after being at the groomers. Turns out, the groomer was out of the regular shampoo and used a sample that had Tea Tree Oil in it. The cat always fought in the bath, and got some in his mouth. He tragically died of the poison.

It is definitely not safe for cats if there is any chance of ingestion. I'm glad all of Leila's cats are OK hearing that it was used on the cats themselves for ringworm.

Well, cats know what they can and cannot ingest. My cats dont eat anything they are not supposed to just by smelling it. tea tree oil IS used for topical remedies on animals, including cats, but you have to watch houw you use it.

If ur cats are the type to lick everything then its not for you. Sorry I forgot to say that. But tea tree oil is really good. Onions are also toxic to cats, I never knew that until not long ago...........but again my cats always turned down everything that has onion in it (when they come to inspect what I'm eating)

So I wouldnt say Dont use tea tree oil on ANYTHING. Just dontuse it to treat fleas, or in excess. but its great used topically for skin irritations on urself and great on stains.

Again, were not talking about putting on your cat, but on the stains. Smelling it wont harm anyone. But Im sure you love ur kitty and dont wanna risk it. But Ive used it for years, on myself and on my cats, but I walways wrap their wounds.........anyway, he're a littl article I found about it.

Claims For Tea Tree Oil

The oil is reputed to have mild antibacterial and antifungal properties and is marketed as a natural remedy in veterinary and human medicine. It has proven antiseptic, antibacterial and fungicidal properties. It is sold in cat skin-care products for cleaning, healing, soothing and relieving itching associated with allergies, insect bites, hotspots, burns, abrasions, minor rashes and irritations. It is claimed that Tea Tree oil is an effective deodorizer, fur detangler, external parasite repellent and that it restores lustre to fur. It is actively promoted for its ability to penetrate the skin. The oil is highly lipophilic (attracted to fats, solvent) and is rapidly absorbed through intact skin (even faster through open wounds). It may also be ingested or absorbed orally through mucous membranes when a cat self-grooms.

Many cat owners claim to use Tea Tree oil without any adverse effect, however, there have been reports from the US that Tea Tree oil is toxic, to cats. There are unconfirmed reports of cats which have died following the its use. In the US, cat owners are advised to seek the advice of a vet before using the oil on cats. A Californian producer of the oil was reportedly unhappy about its Tea Tree product being promoted for use on cats due to concerns over its potential toxicity. An American expert in the use of essential oils (who has used Tea Tree oil successfully to treat skin infections in cats) recommends that the oil should not be used where the cat can lick it off, This addresses the hazard of ingestion, but not of absorption through the skin or through wounds (such as unhealed flea bites).

I have a silly boy that likes to eat plastic bags. Anything that is a baggy. I have to make certain they are up and out of his way. As for pet stain remover. I kept asking this question also. Some one told me about mixture of hydrogen peroxide, dish detergent, and baking soda. It works great; I had a problem with my guys marking a spot where my dogs were sleeping. Once I put this stuff on there, they never marked it again. It also will take up stains left behind by your pets.

OH by the way did any of you know that Natures Miracle isn't really the same stuff that we are use to. I have used the new stuff and was really disappointed, but didn't know that it had changed. I found an article on it. Here is a little blip on it. formerly Nature's Miracle -- don't use the "currently available" Nature's Miracle, because the product was sold and the "original" product is now Petastic. NATURES MIRACLE!!!! - you can get it at petco, petsmart, superpets... it is by far the best product i've ever tried and believe me i've tried a ton of them..

I found it to be lacking in how it use to work for me. So when I did mention it, some one told me of petastic. If you still like it, then by all means keep using it. I just wanted to let others know that it has changed.

Simple solution is great stuff and available at Petsmart or online. I bought giant bottle when I got my kitties 2 years ago buit luckily have never used it. they are so good/not one vomit or litterbox accident in 2 years. Howver my parents cats are Frequent pukers and it works great for them. They have also used it for red wine stains in the carpet.

I have had very good luck with Woolite Pet Stain Remover. I do not know if it works on urine smell, I've never needed to use it for that, but it does get up the puke stains exceptionally well I use it for just about every other kind of stain too and it always works well.

I do not care for Resolve, it seems to bleach my carpet without actually removing the stain.

I have also tried using Oxyclean on stains, and while it does remove the stain, I get the same "bleached" effect, a circle that is way, way lighter than the rest of the carpet, and those nasty little granules are left behind and irritating to vaccum up, and I have to scrub way more to lift the stain.

With the Woolite, I just spray it on, rub it gently a couple of times in a circular motion with a paper towel, let it sit and come back later and vacuum it up. It couldn't be easier
