Maybe instead of confining Tina to one room, you can confine Tigger to your bedroom. After all, this will be safer, since he keeps having seizures.

Sounds like he has settled down a little. I hope he can eat a little more, and get some rest.

THANKS TO EVERYONE. IT REALLY HELPS A LOT TO BE ABLE TO TALK TO SOMEONE ABOUT THIS. MOST NON-CAT PEOPLE WOULD NOT UNDERSTAND MY PAIN!

TCS is a great place. I'm glad you found us!

Its great to hear that he seems a little better. Zissou is sending little cat vibes to Tiggs--she's sitting on my hands while I type! Hopefully the iv fluids are helping him out.

Tiggs says thank you to Zissou.
I think the stink is due to the Potassium I am giving him. It smell somewhat similiar and I guess after he digested it it smell like that. I gave him another small dose and now the whole cat stinks like a skunk. No way I can get the two cats together when he smells like that. I guess I have to take BOTH to get a bath when this is over.
I now wash my hands after touching him before going to see Tina. Otherwise she gets very aggitated. I bought some vanilla extract. How should I apply it? Should I mix it with water and sprinkle it around?

I am supposed to administer potassium. About half a teaspoon every 12 hours. I think this is responsible for him heaving had no seizures in 4 hours and the smell. I can't keep up the level though, as I keep putting it on his paw to lick but I can't put enough there.
How should I give it to him? I really don't want to have to force that in too, since I am having trouble giving him the other 3 meds already.
He whines a bit but he is much calmer now. Does not have his spastic contractions either. I think he will make it through the night and I have hope now that he can make a recovery.

If the potassium is a powder can you mix it in some water or milk (not cow - cat milk or goat milk) and give it in a syringe without a needle? I get meds down my cats that way quite easily. Good luck with Tigger.

Its a paste. I have a lot of trouble with 3 syringes I have to administer twice daily. I have tried what everyone suggested (to seek for an opening in the side of his mouth, but everything was shot tight).
He put up a hell of a fight when I gave him his meds. I am happy though, as he was stronger than this morning. He bit me, scratched me, hissed growled and thrashed around. He was the most angry cat I have ever encountered.
Amazingly immediately after, he was quite calm and did let me pet him. Then he laid down and fell asleep. He was extremely exhausted. He got up once more, stumbled around a bit and looked unhappy. But he did not twitch that much anymore.
The doc said the steroids would get him up again, but the Antibiotics have to work for him to heal. Otherwise its only temporary.

If you can get ahold of spray cheese you can mix the paste with that and Tigger should eat it.

The vanilla extract should be pure vanilla extract not imitation. Put several small dabs in three places, under their chins, between their shoulder and on the base of their tails. It is quite strong and not much is needed though you will have to reapply it at least 3 times a day for a few days.

Sounds like you have both had a really traumatic time and I can only think how lucky Tigger is to have such a dedicated Mom.

I hope that everything is Ok and Tigger continues to improve.

Me and the feline/Canine family send you lots of loving/healing vibes

Thx. Hissy. I can try. He is picky but not as picky as Tina.
Casa: I am a guy

Update on Tigger: He seems to strengthen. This morning he looks much better already and he is interested in getting out of the room. I made an appointment with the vet so he can check him out and they can show us how to administer the meds. I told them I had some trouble with that. Otherwise I will keep Tigger and Tina separated at least until tonight. I wan't him to be able to put up a good fight, just in case. I will be standing by with my little water spray, that Tina is so afraid off.
Thanks for all your help. Now all thats left to do, is to wait and see if the Antibiotics do their job. His new found strength may be due to the Steroids.

Tigger is temporarily hospitalized until the Vet spoke to the Neurologist.
Test for all of the suspicious cat diseases came back negative, we still don't know whats wrong.
Tigger has developed hypersensitivity to touch and becomes very agressive when we handle him. He is feeling a lot of pain just by being lifted up (for giving his meds) and sometimes even when we pet him.
Tigger had several seizures when we were at the vet, obviously stress related.
He was crying constantly during the exam but he showed some better reflexes than before (I had to leave the room as he was so upset that it really hurt me). If we can not cure his neurological disorder he may turn agressive.
The technician showed me how to give his medication. I tried it out. It really worked better than what I did before. We hope to be able to take him back home soon and give him some time, hopefully he can recover without serious brain damage.
For now we defenitely have to keep Tina away from him. If they get into a fight in his current condition it could be fatal.
Tigger put up a hell of a fight when I put him in his cage and he hissed like I never heard him hiss before. It came from very deep down and was very angry.

The News are very bad. Since the vet couldn't find any trace of the diseases in his blood we stopped the treatment with antibiotics. He is now treating Tigger for some of the rare diseases. If Tigger does not respond within 48 hours, the only conclusion left is Lymphoma.
I asked the Vet if he could help us to end Tiggers Pain. My god this is so hard. I don't want to let go of my buddy, but I can not see him suffer either.
There is still a chance he will respond, but we have to bring im to the Vet every day now and he has to stay there the whole day. This is bad news for little Tiggs.

I am sorry to hear that Tigger has taken a turn for the worse. I understand how hard it is to sit back and watch, I will keep both you and Tigger in my thoughts tonight. Take care and always remember to treasure the time the two of you share.

He just doesn't understand, and thinks he is fighting for his safety. Inside, he is still your loveable boy.

Sounds like you have a vet who is really trying his best. I hope Tigger can stay strong and overcome this awful illness. You have people from all over the world caring about your special kitty. Feel better soon, Tigger!

I know Becki. Right after fighting, if I release him he comes and lets me pet him. Usually my cats used to hold a grudge for a short time but not anymore. He is a really good boy and he loves us very much. He fights with all his strenght but as soon as its over he doesn't even hide anymore and comes straight up to us as if he is saying, don't worry Mom and Dad, I am not upset. I hope he isn't trying to say goodbye just yet.

News: His Kidney and Potassium levels are somewhat better. If we could only find the cause for his brain inflamation. His body functions could be fixed but that alone doesn't do. Had to take some time and recover myself before writing news.
