Ok i was informed my my neighbor that my landlord intends to fumegate tomarrow, for spiders and ants. No he didnt tell me. Its the basement that runs under both of our houses. Duplex. Anyway how long do i need to keep Taz out of the house while they do this? I Dont want her to get hurt by it, and maybe the babies too. She hasnt had them yet, im wondering now if this is why, everything has a reason, maybe this is it, Anyway i just want her to be safe.
Anyway had to deal with this before?

Just to be safe... take her on a drive. Take the treats with you so she isn't too upset.

I don't like the idea of a cat being in the house with noxious stuff like that; she'd probably hate the smell even if she wasn't hurt by it.

well i plan on putting her in her next box and covering it and going to my moms at the very least for a few hours, but im worried about any kind of long term effects, and how long the toxic gas will be around.

Ask the landlord how long the fumes last. Usually the house is closed up for a few hours. Then you open all the windows and let it air out before returning.

Is he doing your part of the house, too, or just the basement underneath you? If he is doing your part of the house, I would recommend vacuuming and washing the floors before letting the kitty loose in there. Otherwise, just opening the windows should be enough, IMHO.

Maybe a longshot...but if you could find out what product is being used, you may be able to contact the manufacturer (or check online) to find out?

I mean, legally, I think they woudl be required to disclose what products are being used, right?
