Lucky me...I got to rescue the most unique kitten. It has 6 toes on the front paws and 5 on each back paw. Reminds me of a hobbit in Lord of the Rings.

If any readers of this post can think of a unique name for darling little male kitty with the BIG feet, I sure would appreciate a suggestion.

I have 11 indoor cats and 4 outside cats (all spayed/nuetered and well taken care of), so I think I've run out of names. I usually go with a human name for my cats..no Muffins or Spot or Fluffy for me.

thanks for any suggestions.

Sounds like a polydactyl. Is it a male or female? Polly would always work

I was told that the mama cat was called Paws.....so I changed her name to Polly and it fits her very well.

The kitten is the one with the HUGE hobbit like feet....he has a great personality too. I just can't come up with a name and it's driving me crazy

How about Littlefoot? Like, how fat mobsters in bad movies are always named Slim and short ones Tall. You said you like human names though, maybe you should look in a baby name book. Or name him something totally random out of a relatively obscure movie like I did. I just did a little search and found out that Rigel is Arabic for "foot"!

You know, be careful with Hemingway. If you've ever read some of his lesser-known stuff, it's a very different image. Like, he had a hair fetish, liked his wife to crossdress as a man, wrote stories about menage-a-trois and abortion, was an alcoholic. Don't get me wrong, I love his writing, and have read a good majority of his stories and novels, but its not all The Old Man and The Sea and For Whom the Bell Tolls.

Well, it's no secret that Hemmingway was a strange bird...and a raging misogynist, potentially also gay and sort of formed his outlook and actions that degraded women based on his inability to come out....there are a lot of theories out there.

His short story about abortion, Hills Like White Elephants, is actually really good reading if you can handle heavy stuff.

BUT he was a talented writer with a bunch of 6-toed cats either way!

Alametos (All(a)- Me -Toes).... don't know, thought that might be kind of funny and unique sounding.

Thanks to all who suggested just good names for my new kitten. It's been such a joy today watching him play. I got some good shots of him and will post when I am allowed.

I went with Alexa's suggestion since I really wanted a hobbit name. Mr. Frodo suits this cat and if you ever get to see him, I think you will agree.

I found a good home for his mother and the lady from Furball Lady (FFF) who agreed to take her just loved her and pointed out they had 7 toes on each front paw and 5 on each back ball. She said she had never seen a cat like that...I think it might be similar to a lynx point and the color might be iris. She will be well cared for, spayed and given shots and then she will go to someone who really wants her.

A HAPPY ENDING for a homeless cat and her two kittens

If he looks like a little hobbit, how about Frodo or Bilbo or Baggins?

Or, since he's got so many more toes to count on, what about Abacus?

I like Abacus....but only a few minutes ago, I made my mind up...Mr. Frodo.

Frodo was my favorite hobbit anyway, cept for Merry

THANK YOU for your excellent suggestion

That's really is good..but I'm afraid by the time a southern drawl slow talkin' Carolina gal like me tried saying Alametos....it would take way too long to call him! Allllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll laaaaaaaaaaaa meeeeeeeeeeeeeeee tooooossssssssssssssss

I like that, seriously..thanks
