I just watched the episode from last week, I think it was called Sola Vox, where the Captain and Trip and some other folks got trapped in a sort of web thing.

Now, I do think that a little too much money got spent on the CG graphics and not enough on the webbing which looked very fake to me, but aside from that, I was very pleased!

Malcolm is turning out not to be a stuffy as he seemed at first. I like the friendships between Hoshi and T'Pol as well as Archer and Trip. I was glad to see Porthos again, he's a cute little beagle dude. The alien was actually a very imaginative creature, even if it did have shades of Odo's race on DS9, yet it was different. And instead of saying "Oh, it was taking hostages" I liked Phlox's response "It was lonely and needed to feel connected to something".

Good episode.

Not a bad episode. I agree about the look of the web. I also like the development of the T'Pol and Hoshi. But I'm not so sure about Archer. He seems a little to boy scout. Perhaps I'm comparing him to much to other captains or am too influenced by quantum Leap. What do you think?:jarswim:

I have really enjoyed this 1st season. I think it is a good foundation to build on. I look forward to next season. Isn't there a double episode on tonight?

Yeah, I'd like to see Archer developed a little more. I'd like to have that "good captain" facade crack just a little. But I think it took them a season or two to get Picard right on TNG too, so I'm willing to give it time.

Two episodes of Enterprise (sigh) life is so good!

I've been impressed with the series thus far. When you go back and watch the first season or two of TNG, it is almost painful to watch. I haven't gotten that cringe factor yet from Enterprise.

Who is everyone's favorite character? Mine is Phlox. He comes across as very "human", but is teaching the crew compassion for other species.

Does anyone know when the season finale is? And if it's definately picked up for next year?

I am also very happy with the progression of the series - except for one thing. They need to rethink the opening and the music - that definately needs major work.

I agree about the music. I always think "Gee, is Rod Stewart so broke he's stooped to doing TV show theme songs?" I was surprised when I (finally) watched the credits, and it wasn't him singing. The graphics are OK, though. It's funny that they are showing the space shuttle Enterprise, implying it's the first of the line, when it was named after the show's ship. Oh, no! Time travel quandry ahead! Maybe THAT would make an interesting episode.

I have been pleased with this first season, although in some ways, it's just not Trek. I so have to agree about the first season of TNG. I can pinpoint the exact episode when I breathed a sigh of relief and said that perhps this show was going to be something. Sorry to disagree with the masses, but although the Enterprise theme is far from the themes I loved for TNG, DS9, and Voyager, that song has grown on me. I love the lyrics.

Well, I will admit that the lyrics have been strangely inspiring going thru' this divorce, but I also agree that it just doesn't feel like the opening fanfare of the other Star Trek series. It's a little too . . . sentimental I guess.

I've got to say I love the theme song. I am tired of theme songs that you can't sing along to. I mean where are ones like yesterdays classics (Brady bunch, Love Boat, Gilligan's Island). I still sing all of those. I do sing to myself the new Trek theme.

I enjoyed both episodes last night, but the poor crew never got to have their shore leave. I found the game they played in the second episode to be very much like lacrosse - so of course I loved it.

adymarie,

Both episodes? I didn't know there were two... Darn, I missed the Lacrosse like sport. There's been so many repeats, I was getting concerned that the show was behind schedule. Now I hear they did two at once. Will it be like that next week as well?

I thought the "lacrosse" game was cool, too. I was a manager for the junior varsity and varsity lacrosse teams throughout high school. First water polo last week, and now lacrosse? It's nice to see that some sports besides football/basketball/hockey are getting SOME exposure outside of the Olympics.

I only knew about the 2 episodes because I checked the TV guide. I think it will be repeated on the Space network on Sunday. I don't know if there are 2 episodes on next week or not - I haven't looked at next week's TV guide yet.

They've done a bunch of double episodes lately. I kind of wish they'd show a new one and a repeat, but they seem to show either two new ones or two repeats, which I think is kind of annoying.

I think from the previews (I still have a saved episode that I haven't watched yet) that they get their shore leave in the next episode.

Ady, are you a big lacrosse fan? I've never actually seen it played, though I've known several people from private schools that played it. I kind of like curling myself, I always felt like I could probably actually play it.

Anyone see the episode where they got shore leave? I really liked that Hoshi was the one who got frisky rather than any of the guys!

I finally like T'Pol. She has finally let her hair down (so to speak) and is showing some personality! I like it!

My favorite is Phlox. I loved his waking up from hibernation scenes! Made me laugh out loud!

But....bummer, I missed the lacrosse episode. Didn't realize it was on.

I am a huge lacrosse fan - the Toronto Rock won the National Lacrosse League Championship this year - that is 3 championships in 4 years!

I also thought that Phlox was hilarious. You also know that the woman who was with Archer will be back in a future episode. Malcolm and Trip so deserved what they got and I am glad Hoshi finally got a life!
