It's less than an hour away from my hometown..all of this area is farming country and very quiet. Right now the police believe the vehicles to be from the Toronto area.

I saw a report about it on the news here (in Germany). Very disturbing!

Just recently the bodies of two young kids were found like 2 miles from my parents house in Hudson, OH. Some of you might have heard of it on the news. A woman and her dog took it upon themselves to find the bodies. I guess the father shot them and killed himself. He claimed to have forgotten where he buried them but knew it was in the NE Ohio area and just of the freeway. So the lady and her dog searched and finally found them. They had the woman and her dog on tv and the mother of the children and everything. It was so sad.

I don't think the average citizen has much to worry about. These folks are probably linked with crime in the Toronto area and this was likely just a "dumping" spot. My feeling is let them kill each other off - saving my tax dollars keeping them fed, clothed and educated in jail.

I agree with you Yosemite that it is most likely linked to crime..but it is really creepy. I don't know if you saw it, but on the front page of the paper they had a pic of a dead guy in a trunk! Um, too much info for me I think

The first thing I thought of when I heard about it was Kathy Reichs's novel involving motorcycle gangs: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/067...lance&n=283155
It reminds me of the "dumps" in the Tri-State (NY, NJ, PA) area when NYC and Philly "families" were fighting for control of Atlantic City's casinos back in the 1970s.

I find it reallllllly scary.

As the dumping spot is a 10 min drive from my house.

The victims have been identified, and five people have been charged. It's biker gang stuff.

eek, i used to know a few Bandito's, through a friend of mine, because they owned the nightclub where she waitressed in Sydney, they seemed like really nice guys, used to buy us drinks sometimes...

that's really scary.

I was really suprised at how quickly this whole thing was resolved! You would think it would be rival gangs, but it looks like internal gang warfare - the victims and the "suspects" are all from the same gang.

The Banditos "own" many bars and restaruants in Niagara Falls US and Canada. They usually do not mess with the general public and are quite friendly to most. However i have heard that in the late 70's you really did not want to be anywhere near them.

When i saw this on the CBC you could see the 1 male body in the trunk and he was huge with long hair. I had thought this was gang related then.
Im glad they are still only killing each other.

The OPP were quick to solve this one. I bet they already had a clue before they found the bodies.

They probably had informants. If I'm not mistaken, the Banditos have a chapter in Sweden, and several members were killed about 4 or 5 weeks ago. I wonder if there's a connection?
As far as being friendly, etc. - our local shelter needed an ancient barn(shed torn down for a parking lot, and repairs made to the house itself, and it was the local bikers who did the work. Last year I was on "early shift" bottle feeding a kitten with a deformed mouth, and the guy who organized everything, did the middle-of-the-night feedings, and adopted the kitten and his mother, was a biker.
The whole situation was a bit freaky. Here you had people notorious for dealing drugs, running brothels, and eliminating rivals, spending so much time saving cats? Unfathomable.

Its likely drug bizness gone bad and someone got ripped off that shouldna got ripped off. Such is the way.
If you enter into such a lifestyle, you have to take responsibility for the risks involved...

I know quite a few bikers who also donate to a specific charity (large amounts) and assist in putting fundraising drives together for the same purpose. I don't think its that strange. Gotta reconcile yourself somehow

My husband was telling me after work tonight that one of the fellow that died worked at his company for a short time. His cousin (who also works there) was trying to help him get a job and get away from the bad influence of the biker gang. My hubby said he could only work in short spurts because he was so large he would get completely out of breath. Apparently he didn't last at the job for more than a few days.
