Rocky, much smarter than we thought

Well, we had always assumed to Rocky wasn't that bright, and boy did he prove us wrong this morning!
Rocky loves playing with the plastic ring around the milk carton. Hubby opened up a new carton of milk this morning, and I went to toss it at Rocky for him to play with. In our kitchen there is a vent on the floor that goes down to the basement, and the heat stove is under it. Hubby takes the ring and shoves it through the vents to the downstairs, where it falls on the floor. Rocky immediately ran down the stairs to the basement. It took him a few minutes to find it, and he ran back up with the ring in his mouth! Pretty good for a cat with some vision problems.

When Trout was only a few months old when we first got her, we were playing fetch with her in the bedroom and I accidentally threw her toy fish up on top of our very high wardrobe. The wardrobe has drawers all the way to the top..Trout just pulled each drawer out with her paws, and climbed up the wardrobe pulling each drawer out like that all the way to the top to get her toy!

We were so amazed! We just looked at eachother in awe!

I felt so bad that my Rockybeans isn't too smart, that he made me a cup of tea so I'd feel better.
