Cracked Nipples

I was checking for discharge (something Cala is not happy with) and found that her poor nipples are severely cracked. She wont let me touch them, and I dont want to hold her down to put anything on it.

Any ideas on how to apply something or another way to help her?

Her belly has been staying rock hard because it's soooo full of kitten.

I would say to get some bag balm, the stuff they put on cows , when they are chapped, that way it wont hurt her if she does happen to lick it...they sell it at pharmacy's, etc.
I would just get a big dab on my fingers, its like vasoline textured..pile enough on theres a pile on your fingers, so when you can sneak up on her, u can just pat it on kind of...

That way if you atleast get it on there, maybe she will almost rub it in, as long as you dont care if some gets on your floor..although if she is that pregnant, she probably wont lay on the area anyway

The baby isle in wal-mart next to the breat pumps has a little purple tube for nursing moms. I lived by it for 8 months I bet mommy would love it and it is not toxic. You can nurse with it. It is something to ask a vet about. I know it works great...
