Oh, I don't have a digital camera, either. What I did was take the pictures, and had the film developed on a CD, and put them on my computer. We had ours done ONLY on CD, and it was about $4 for THREE rolls of film.

I never new it was thought to be a myth. I usually check things out too but that one I just took for granted. I went to a european bistro the other day and had some kind of pastry that was LOADED with poppyseeds. I always thought it had to be quite a lot to test positive...I'm surprised just a bagel could do it.

That's pretty funny. I always thought it was false too until they asked me the question before a drug test "Have you eaten anything with poppyseeds today?"

I know for a fact that this is a myth. I used to work in an occupational health clinic, and we did drug testing as part of our services. One of the docs who worked with us had a Ukranian mother-in-law who baked delicious poppy seed holiday pastries. He gorged himself on them over the holidays and came in and had us run a drug screen on him. He said, "If anyone should fail because of poppy seeds, it's me, because I have a ton of them in my system."

His test came back negative.

Actually, many of the poppyseeds used in baked goods are opium poppies. Opium poppies are papaver somniferum. There are dozens of hybrids of this strain under other names, and many of them are used in bakeries. But don't worry, they won't make you high. Lots of people grow opium poppies in their yards and have no idea, as they're sold in seed catalogues and are very pretty. They're one of my favorite flowers.

You would think that with as sophisticated as medical technology is today, the people doing the testing could tell the difference between someone who is eating a poppyseed muffin for lunch and someone who is smoking dope. I've always thought that it was really lame that you have to stop eating something that is completely harmless in order to not get fired from your job.
