Just yesterday a pair of strays visited my home. One was an orange tabby and the other an all white one. Couldn't tell their gender, but they seem about the same age. But it looked like the orange one was guiding/protecting/teaching his partner. I put out food, they shared it. Afterwards, the white one wanted to stay a bit, looking me over, but then his partner called him and they both walked away. What do you think? Were they siblings? Spouses? Wawa seemed to know them too. Were they his former colony friends?
If they stick together, one watching over the other, how can I trap both? I have two traps, do I set them side by side?

Hmm, I wouldn't be surprised if they end up in the same trap, or if one gets trapped and the other stays next to the trap until you get too close...

I would've guessed "mother and kitten" if you hadn't said they were the same age; as it is a mother and kitten can easily be only six months apart in age.

I think what you're seeing is a simple friendship between two cats... if they were siblings, wouldn't they both know the same things, and not have one teaching the other? So I would guess a friendship. Mating between two cats doesn't usually result in a long-term "spouse"-style relationship, anyway.

Thank you for your reply! This morning I found them seated side by side at the top of the stairs in the terrace. They seem to be waiting for their freebies. It was soooo cute. My camera is under repair so photos will have to wait.
Anyway, Wawa and QT are watching them closely. They are making sure those 2 newcomers don't overstay their welcome.

I've decided to win their trust first, until I can just place them in carriers without a fuss. First week of May I'll have them fixed. Looks like my cat family will increase before summer.

Oh, the white one is definitely male. Still can't get close enough to the orange one to check.

Update
They are both males. This morning the white one (I named Ashley) let me touch his side, but only for a sec before he ran off. His orange partner (Buddy, a very appropriate name) keeps a safe distance but at least he no longer disappears the moment he sees me which is good. Ashley cried yesterday when he couldn't find Buddy. I swear those 2 are the best of friends. Wawa is going crazy keeping them away. So I treat my boy super special and he loves it.

I hope to get my camera from the repair shop next week and will post pics.

That is so cute. Maybe you can get them to be with you and trust you.

Ashley and Buddy
Okay, they were fixed yesterday (for free, but I gave a donation).
After sleeping for almost a whole day, they're back to normal.
QT seems glad they are back. She liked Ashley.
I hope Wawa accepts them as his assistants in guarding his "territory" outside. Skinny and Joji don't seem to care.
Gosh, it's taking so long to repair my camera but I promise to post photos asap!

What a great little story, it is nice when it all works out and everything isn't it? They show up, you win their trust, get them fixed and now you have 2 more cats and they apparently get along fine with your cats...I wish everyone was so kind and willing to care for some strays. Great job!

Awww... they're so cute!! Talk about male bonding--they look as though they might as well be joined at the hip!

They are both beautiful....I wonder if they are brother-litter-mates. Their body shapes and faces look so much alike.
