My thoughts and prayers have been with you. I am so sorry things went the way they did for you and Meeka. I think you would have made a wonderful breeder. I do think things happen for a reason, and you are still going to be a great contributer to the breed, in just another wonderful way. The Bengal breed is lucky to have you!!
Please keep us updated on your new and upcoming projects!! ((HUGS))

I am so excited to see color and patterns on your babies!!
That is exciting to produce colorpoints and True bicolors with Dante'!! Dante' is a proud Daddy now!!

I am SO excited that you found a vet that does early alter!! That is just such wonderful news!! I have found that the incision is so much smaller, they heal quicker, and when they go to their new homes, there is less worry if the families were to become extra busy, and push the altering back, when it is done by the adoptive families. I also ask that if the owners can't keep our cat, that the kitten/cat comes back to us for us to keep or rehome.
I am certainly no one to judge any other breeders, but it sounds like you are doing a wonderful job as a reputable breeder. Keep up the great work!!
I can't wait to see new pictures!! Give Icey and Dante' belly rubs, for doing such a great job!
Yeah we got twin litters right now kind of. And as far as color, I am really thinking two are a little darker and a little color is on the ears i'm thinking those two will be seal and one is real light colored and the cutest little pink ears I think that one will be blue, i'm not too sure of the last, it's a little darker then the white one but not as dark as the other two, always one to make you guess and keep you on your toes. Of coarse it's a little too early for the patterns yet, but I will know soon if there are any color points by the paw pads. How soon did you start getting colors on yours? you have two seal and two blues right? and I forgot the patterns are they all bi colors?
Dante' is quite the proud papa, he came and got me every time she started having a kitten, he would come over and nudge me and meow till I got up and checked on her, and he sleeps in front of Ice's cage too. He hasn't really met them yet, i'm too nervious for that yet.
By doing the altering, it does take off that extra stress I don't really need, I know how busy life can be and then before you know it, she slipped out in heat and now she is bringing half breed kitties into the world, I feel it's my responsablity as a breeder to do what I can to be sure that I don't help with adding to the already high population of cats. If you understand what I mean.

All four babies are still with us and doing well! They have all gained. I am still worried about them but no longer have that wrenching feeling in my guts that some thing is wrong and they are in danger, in guess those feeling were because of the two that didn't make it, I hope. I think I am going to name these four in honor of the kittens that crossed the rainbow bridge too soon. If any one would like to suggest a name of one of their babies please do, and mabey I will make a poll, or some thing. These babies are special to me, and I want them to be named after other special kittens that was taken too soon but still touched every ones heart. Thanks for thinking of us, it really helped.

I cant remember the poor little kittens name...
But I think out of every kitten story I've ever heard, he definitly faught a long battle..Remember the kitten that was fighting for atleast a month or so on here?? I think he finally passed a few wks ago. After procedures and surgeries..

I cant even remember his whole story, except for that I think he was either abused or hurt when the woman got him..

O'well just thought Id mention it, because I was surpised when I saw him get moved to the other board..

Congrats on them healthy kittens

Are you thinking of "oscar" mabey? He was the one who had been attacked by the dog and I think his kindeys or some thing ended up failing.? I thought about him, if thats who you mean, though I did have kitten from my last litter I had named oscar, his name has been changed by his new owners (to vinnie, yuck!) so mabey I can name one after him.

I can think of a few kittens that were lost too soon this year...LionessRampart's Lola (to FeLV), ScamperFarms' Ares (just recently), Several of Beckiboo's foster litter last year (I think maybe Twinkie? There were a few, and they had cute candy names, and she also lost Mattie from FIP. Also Eatrawfish's Jane to FIP, and of course my baby Smudge. (FIP)

I am so sorry for you loss of baby Smudge, and to anyone else who has lost a kitten.
FIP is (Feline Infectious Peritontitis), it is when the corona virus mutates into a fatal disease.

Well, I'm happy for you that you DON'T know about it. It is Feline Infectious Peritonitis, and it's one of the worst diseases ever. It has a couple different forms, but basically a cat that has it has a 0% survival rate. It's extremely sad and a quick disease, and it makes the cat so sick that you have to put it to sleep. It's mostly a kitten disease - age at most infections is 10 months. Poor babies.

Well, it's actually a form of the Coronavirus, which many cats do get, but SOME cats have some sort of chemical makeup or genetic makeup that mutates the coronavirus to the lethal form of FIP. I really didn't take my kitties anywhere except the vet, so I really don't know how they (he) got it. I had a litter of 8 kittens that were from a stray that I adopted. I will say that none of the rest of the litter got it, at least FIP, nor did the mom. And it can be killed with simple household bleach. If you hang around the Crossing the Bridge forum, you will see a few of those in the next few months, unfortunately. If I ever win the lottery, the first thing I'm going to do is donate money to that.

Oh, and there's no vaccine.
That's why I'm going to contribute money.

From the way I have understood FIP, it is only contagious when it the corona stage, once it is mutated to FIP, it is no longer contagious, and isolation isn't needed any longer. The corona virus itself is very contagious, as it is shed by saliva and feces. There is actually an FIP vaccine available, that can be given after 16 weeks of age, however many vets have differing strong opinions on the usefulness of this vaccine. I for one, do not give it. The vaccine is a modified-live, and there is not enough proof of it giving immunity. I have done some research into FIP, but there is varying opinions, as there still isn't much understood with FIP. The only way to be positive the cat died from FIP is with a tissue biopsy or necropsy. Although vets can make an educated diagnosis just by symptoms. There are 2 different types, wet (effusive) FIP and dry (non-effusive) FIP.
Testing for the corona virus is for the most part inaffective, as most cats have been affected with the corona virus.
There has been a lot of research done, and it couldn't be done without people like Kluchetta, helping by donating money. If you would like to help the Winn Feline Foundation has done amazing things.
By research, they have found that genetics may play a large role in the immunity and resistance to FIP.

My research has been through reading a book by Neils Pederson and through information given by Dr. Susan Little.
