I just ordered canned cat food! We're almost out of all of the good stuff. lol I didn't even get any of the Nutro they really love!

Guess how much I spent!!! Let's see....$65.22 at one place including shipping & $26.56 at the other place. I got all Merrick & I got 48 5oz cans for the $60 something. I got one case of the new Merrick for the $20 something.

The best part is, I am taking lil sis & the dogs to Pet Expo(the pet store an hour away) next Tuesday! Then I'll get some Felidae & Gourmet Classics & Eagle Pack & Nutro pouches for the kitties!

Good gravy! I hope I don't have to buy any more food for awhile! Oh wait! I'm almost out of dry food, too!
Glad they don't eat much of that. I can hold off for another 2 weeks on what we have.

How much do you spend on cat food & other supplies? Do you by a ton at once, or spread it out over a certain peroid of time?

We buy 60 pounds of litter every two weeks -so $32/mo
40 pounds of dry food a month (not precisely once a month) -roughly $45-$50/mo
2 cases of canned a month -$24/mo

They get Nutro dry, Friskies canned (ucky, yes, but the only one they'll eat)
And store brand litter.
$106/mo total

I don't want to think about exactly how much I spend
now with four cats, a dog and 2 rats I imagine it'll be a little more

I usually buy a thirty day supply or more of wet food (Pro Plan cat food 65 cents a can) and two or more of the big jugs of Pro Plan dry food ($14.99 a jug) And once in awhile a toy (ok more then once, everytime!) our average bill going down there once a month, is over $100.00. and that is mostly cat food and litter.
But they are worth every cent of it.

Luckily I only have 2 mouths to feed!!

I'd say I probably spend about $40 a month in Nutro.
I buy the giant boxes of litter, which usually run about $15 a box, so that's probably $30 a month for that
And God only know show much I spend on toys and other such spoiling paraphanalia!!

What size cans do you buy? That seems pretty expensive. At petfooddirect.com, you can get 24/5.5-oz cans of Merrick for $23.49. There's no tax, but the shipping can add up, so I usually take advantage & order whenever they have a good coupon available. I just odered 2 cases of canned California Natural & EVO with a 20% coupon. I also order my dry EVO from PFD with a coupon... 4 lg bags at a time.

The coupon is still good if you're interested, but it expires midnight, April 6, 2006... the code is PET3306.... http://www.petfooddirect.com

Food: 24 cans of Evanger's at .75 a can
24 cans of Eagle Pack at .85 a can
24 cans of Wellness at $1.05 a can
20 pounds of Felidae lasts a little over 2 months, at $25.95

It depends on how broke I am, whether or not I buy in bulk. Lately I have been buying the little bags, (Nutro) I think they're $13 or so, but I usually buy the 20 lb ones for $26 I think, and it lasts about a month. I spend about $40 a month for canned. (Nutro, Eagle Pack, Natural Balance, and the like)
Dog food (Nutro Ultra) I spend about $35 for a 30 lb bag and it lasts a month. Greenies, I spend maybe $20 a month.
Litter, I use about $20 a month or so, but I'm trying different brands and can't say for sure yet what I spend.
So, roughly somewhere under $150 a month.
Wow, didn't realize it was that much....thanks....

Petfooddirect.com has them for about that price (no tax) & if you use the 20% off coupon that I posted earlier, that would take care of a good bit of the shipping.

Soggy Paws! It's a self-serve doggy-washin' place that's Uptown. I'm assuming that they're able to keep prices really low because they make most of their money from grooming services.

Under a stack of blueberry waffles.
I have one cat.

$8/month on storebrand litter (20 lbs).

$32 for 48 days worth of Felidae wet (case of 12.3 oz cans) = ($20/month)

$34 for six months' worth of Advantage. = (about $5.67 a month)

about $2 a month for toys/treats. This is an estimate (I buy her favorite toys in bulk, and only replace the current ones with a new one when she's batted them beyond recognition). Her favorite toys are rattling fuzzy mice tied to strings and SmartyKats Perky Prawns. Sometimes I'll get her random interesting-looking toys I think she'll like. A bag of freeze-dried shrimp treats last her over a month because I also give her fresh meats as treats.

She has a lot of other toys around, but those are the only two she likes. Silly girl. :p

So about $35.67/month. Don't let the low price fool you. My girl gets spoiled rotten, and I set money aside for textbooks, gas, and vet visits.

Loving my beautiful baby girl
A month's worth of Sierra and Serenity's food is around $100, plus treats and bottled Spring water. Sierra's medications and supplements are a little over $100, as well. Litter is about $18-20 a month. Then there are all the toys little fun items to spoil my girlies!

Danr Christine! I wish I had known about that coupon before I ordered! I ordered only a little from PFD & the rest from www.epetpals.com cause they have Merrcik 5.5 oz cans fro $.95. epet lets you order however many cans you want, not just in cases. My girls like certain flavors better, so I can get 12 of this kind & 3 of the other.
