hello im new here and thank god i found this place im goind outta my mind with worry!! may sound silly to some people... but ill explain

i live in spain, or my parents do, im on holiday here, and my cats r outdoor only cats. i have 2 cats, one is old a rescue cat and the other is her offspring, now almost 2 years old. 2 days ago, the mother cat had a kitten, and now the other cat is hissing at her and us, disappears for long periods of time everday, and to be honest her loving nature has changed, not completley as she will still want to be picked up sometimes and still purrs, but she hisses and growls a lot at the mother cat and also us, which she NEVER did b4,. Im worryin that she will run away or leave us ?!?! please does anyone know why she is doing this and will she get better, we wud love to keep the kitten,as our other cat got killed last year
so we'd love another one, and were hoping for the 2 cats to play together eventually. i just dont want to lose my other cat and dnt want to upset her unduly

The new kitten is strange smelling and is in her territory. She may settle down once she figures out it is no threat to her. You may want to keep them inside, but seperate from one another until things settle down a bit.

It is a very normal reaction with kitties!

is it normal! thanx made me feel better, prob is my dad wont allow animals oin house, it was a struggle to get pets in first place
the mother cat and new born r hiding in the underbuild so they r outside but in cover, the other cat isis the one who growls etc is always outside, so far she hasnt gone near the kitten i dont think, but not sure taking it inside is an option, altho if it gets really bad i will have to sort something out, thanx for the reply
