This is very hard and very sad for me to write. Not only because of its suddeness. But it did just happen as well. I am in tears, but I feel he was part of the family here at TCS as well.

Ares had not been feeling his best the last few days, kind of sluggish. My regular vet could not find anything overly wrong, and sent us home with the basics.

This morning however, he went downhill very fast. When he suddenly had, what at best as i could reckon, was a seizure, we rushed him to the ER vet.

He had another seizure, and went into a Coma. They did some tests, and told me, that he had a liver stint. alot of things behind it....but we could chose to have a surgery done, and they couldnt say what his chances were. or..what we did. the humane thing. We let him go.

I will always love him. And although he was with us such a short time. He will always be my angel. He always made me laugh..and he had such personality. this is so hard.

RIP my little man..

Oh, my heart stopped when I read the title! Rest in peace, dear heart, you were much loved by everyone, and you will be so sorely missed. My heart goes out to you.
I can't even begin to imagine the pain, but he's waiting over the bridge now, and he can't wait to see you there.

Oh my, I'm really sorry you lost your little guy so suddenly and so soon

That is very hard, and I am impressed at how you are taking the first step - being able to talk about it, no matter how painful. I am glad you did the right thing, instead of taking chances that could have put him into more pain. You're such a good mommy to him, through good times & through bad, and you didn't let your wanting to hang onto him cloud your vision of what's right for him.

A ton of hugs to you

I know he's enjoying his time at Rainbow Bridge... meeting once again with ones you've lost, and waiting for you all the way
He's not gone, he's just in a different, better place...... And he will never disappear.

Rest in peace, dearest Ares

Thank you everyone. No. I knew, I had to let him go. That was what was best for Ares. Its never the easy choice to make for sure. But I would never want him to suffer. He was such a good sweet boy. I couldnt have asked for better.

The hospital staff was very sweet as well. And they made a clay paw print of his paw for us with his name.

Aw, what a nice way to remember him. I'm glad the people there were friendly. It makes it easier (not that's it's at all easy in the first place though
)

I just read about this is the Signature section. I can't tell how how awful I feel about his passing. My heart is just breaking for you.

I had a Persian, who passed on at the age of 2 from liver problems. It is so devasting when they're young, and when they've seemed healthy. Stanley, my little guy, became sluggish on a Saturday, and I thought he was just depressed because I had gotten Simba that weekend. He stopped eating completely on Sunday, and I took him to the vet on Monday, thinking that he was just going through a depression, and that the Vet would tell me he would be alright. But instead the Vet said he was hopelessly ill, and that I should put him to sleep, because he said Persians weren't strong enough to fight the illness. I had to let him go, also.

RIP, sweet little Ayers. Your life wasn't long, but it was filled with love, and joy, while you were here. Now, you're spreading your special brand of joy, at the Rainbow Bridge.

*HUGS* thank you. Ares was a fighter...(testitame that it took this long before we were able to detect a problem) I am sorry about your baby stanley.

Ares will forever be in my heart and prayers. He brought so much joy, and so many giggles to me..while he was here. He was a special little angel. he did his job, and now he is awaiting me on the other side.

I saw this and cried out...I really loved what I knew of this little persian man. I am so very sorry for your loss. I'd like to think he's now met my wise old Patrick who is showing him the best spots to catch the sun on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge.

Oh Pat *hugs* now i am crying all over again. I like to think he is over there too, getting show the best places to roll over and bare his belly..and enjoy the sweet sunshine. I know he will be waitinf for me when I make the journey. But its gonna be so hard without him. I was just laying down in bed to try to nap..and it just felt to empty. I had to get up.

I'm sorry I made you cry
It just takes time..and even then all that does is dull the pain, never the love or the memories. We can honestly say, any of us on this forum, that we are better people for the cats we've loved and who've graced us with their love, trust and affection.

I told Patrick I want him to be in front, greeting me on the other side, when it's my time. We will get to hold them again.

Its ok. I have been crying all day. heh.

That is what I told Ares too. I said he better be there..to pat me on my face, and I would pick him up and he could purr away. His ears twicthed. I had to belive he heard me and that was his reply even though he was in the Coma.

Steve is having trouble with this too saying he was so young. I agree, but told him. that Ares had done what he came to do. He graced us with his sweet love, and it was time for him to go home to wait for us.

I heard about Ares in the signature section and just had to come here and let you know I am thinking of you and I am so sorry for your loss.

I wish I could say more...but I really don't know what to say.

Take care and if you need someone to talk to I am always here for you.

Rest in Peace sweet little one xxxx
