I have read several articles that state feline acne could possibly be helped with a change in diet, but the articles never say what kind of change.

I'm currently feeding Cindy both wet and dry. She was on Science Diet at the shelter, but she didn't really like it, so I got Iams for awhile. After doing more research, lately I've been giving her Nutro pouches, Max Cat, and occasionally Merrick. She doesn't eat much, mainly licks the wet food and few bites, and she's not messy about it.

She also won't tolerate me cleaning her chin with the solution I got from the vet. She is very fast and will not let me pick her up anymore, she just runs under the bed. I need to do something, but I don't know what. The vet said it was better not to stress her out. Well, anything I try stresses her out.

I sure do envy people who have cats who just go with the flow

Firstly, if you are feeding or watering her with plastic bowls, or keeping her food in a plastic container, get rid of the plastic, as that is one common cause of feline acne. Many cats are allergic to it, and its harder to get it really realll clean than say, stainless steel or ceramic.

Other than that, you could try coming up to her when she's asleep, and petting her for a while, and then rub just a little bit of the stuff on her. You don't want the only time you pick her up to be to rub her face with stinky stuff though!

I got rid of the plastic bowls right away, have ceramic now. And I wash them with soap and water every time.

The minute I touch her with anything other than my hands, she's away and under the bed. She was just starting to come out from being so afraid and hding, and now this. *sigh*
